Post your component list, rate other anons', and ask questions in general.

Always state the purpose of your PC, your budget, AND YOUR COUNTRY if outside the USA.

If you are asking for improvements, clarify whether you want to lower price or to improve specs or build quality.

Assemble your parts list; built-in price comparisons by vendor and a compatibility filter.

Should I upgrade to a 1440p 140hz monitor or upgrade my GTX 760 to a GTX 1080?

If you're gaming don't get Ryzen otherwise get Ryzen.

>Mobo too expensive

>SSD too expensive

>16 gigs are you running VMs? If not get 8.

>PSU overkill

>Sound Card

You had me going until the sound card. Good bait.

It's not. They're splitting hairs over minuscule single core performance increase versus Intel. I find it hilarious anyone WOULDN'T get Ryzen currently.

>ever getting AMDshit

It's cheaper because it's inferior, it's all garbage. Intel and NVIDIA cost more, but offer exceedingly increased performance and driver support that actually works.

This will be my first ever PC that I've built. I won't be able to buy everything until at least the end of the year. My job doesn't pay well and I'm aiming for a mid-tier gaming rig with decent upgradability for the not-so-near future.

I've been researching parts ever since I got this job, two weeks ago, and so far I've come up with this build. I had a Corsair CX600 on the list but after seeing the reviews and how it either dies or kills parts with it so often I decided to choose another one. I think this 600B might be decent enough.

I chose the case mostly because people say it's airflow is great but also because it was the most appealing to me while also being able to contain an ATX mobo. Speaking of which, I think the B250-PLUS is a good choice, I was going to get the PRO but it's smaller than a normal ATX and I've read some people having problems with that because it won't attach properly to their case. The RAM stick is not the one I chose, I just forgot to change it in that list, it's the same model but it's a 2400MHz version.

The 1050 Ti suits my needs precisely, I won't be gaming at 4k in Ultra, just want enough to play whatever's currently being released at medium perhaps.

What I'm most concerned about is the i5-7400 Kaby Lake. From what I read Kaby Lake is not a big improvement at all compared to the Haswell generation. Do you think it's reasonable to get one for upgrading purposes or should I try some other generation or brand?

My current specs just in case someone's curious:

>i3-2100

>GT430

>generic PSU

>4GB RAM

I got it in 2011, I think. Now it's way past the time to build a new rig.

It's hard to say wither or not you should upgrade the Haswell. The only reason why I would say you should is for DDR4 memory support which could make a big difference. But at the same time if you're content with DDR3 then there really is no big leap in performance where you could get a somewhat better GPU like a 1070.

If possible try to find a cheap Skylake, and see if you can squeeze in a 1070

Updated the list a little bit. Already bought the RM550x. I decided to change from the i5-7400 to the Ryzen 3 1300X, after researching into Intel's history I'm not giving a single penny to them.

My doubt is the B350 Tomahawk. I don't know what to think of it, to be quite honest.

Great, so you're one of those retards. The Ryzen 3 is still the better way to go though so fucking whatever.

Is there any reason not to get a PSU with a higher wattage than I'll use, except that it might waste a few dollars?

If you want my advice, I always go AMD for videocards (GPU) seeing as they beat NVIDIA out of the water in terms of performance per cost. I have a RX470 that is absolutely phenomenal and can run Witcher 3 on ultra with 50 FPS. I usually run it a bit lower settings tho for 60fps.

Also make sure to get 8gb RAM, probably 16 if you're a big neckbeard gamer.

When they perform 9/10ths as good and cost half the price they mean something, for sure.
