Why aren't you using a PiHole?

I've been using one for the past week (Pic Related)

Youtube embed is basically a demonstration video.

I added stuff to it, but it is working great

Little if no ads.

Actually the only ads I see are the ones that are site-specific ads, like if I went to a News site, I would only se ads that are made by the news site for the news site.

There are no outside ads viewed.

It doesn't slow anything down

I had a Raspberry Pi 3B+ laying around, so I did it.

I'm using it.

I can block facebook completely if I want from accessing my network, but my wife uses it.

do it

order a raspberry Pi, a 32GB mini SD, a kit for cooling with a fan, and a power supply that you can turn on and off without unplugging and you are ll set

you gotta try it

just follow the instructions

IF your computer is not using the PiHole, which you will figure out after you do all the installs and all that, you can easily fix it up.

I'm running linux so I had to edit /etc/resolv.conf as well as changing the dns in my gui

works great

shit - I can also monitor my sleeping habits

buy a few extra fans for this btw. If its left on for prolonged periods of time, sometimes the fan starts making noise. I have another one I'm using for a media server and I had to change the fan out in that one as well as another one I had running (I have a total of 3)

Because my Pi3b is already working as wifi to ethernet and TOR router for all my web traffic. I think it will take some work to get pihole working with this setup, will try it out one day.
