I am learning to code and have made lots of improvement to OpenIB so far, many of which 8chan really ought to fix themselves. I don't have the exact 8chan code so some features are still lacking and need to be reprogrammed, but I learn very fast and put in time every now and then to write.
I could use some tech friends to help speed things up, if anyone is up for the task.

Yeah, right. There are 3 boards and one of them is /lgbt/. 21 hours old and it's already infested with faggots.

This. Also why should faggots use it? They have spacechan and nano's site.

Feel free to show it? Viewable content is more interesting than just words. I'm interested in how many functions you can implement without any javascript. FWIW I don't think javascript is a problem unless it's causing slow load times or heavy resource use for the end user.
I also don't think CSS is a downside with the exception of selectable themes flashing on reload sometimes, which I suppose could be fixed with jquery anyways.
If you disagree please explain why so I can learn!

Backlinks, quick reply box, inline image expansion and/or expansion on mouseover. In theory you could do thread auto-update by making a page that never finishes loading.

>jquery
That's a fairly heavyweight framework, and also not hip with the kids anymore.
Look into mithril.js, it's a lightweight framework..

It's the same size though, is there any performance gains or cooler features?
Also jquery is kinda just because there's a dozen scripts included using jquery and porting it to another framework seems like a waste of time if there's no substantial gain. Might be a good learning experience though so I'll take note.

Yeah I like to stick to jquery for exactly that reason. If you use something else that hardly anyone knows chances are there will be incompatibilities once you decide to use more third party libraries.
But before you use any js library, try to get there afoot just using html and css. If it can be done without js it'll always be more efficient. They are very powerful without javascript nowadays already if you know what you're doing. Many webdevs seem to use javascript for certain tasks just out of ignorance or laziness, don't be like them.
