Can I get ya'lls opinion on a good adblocker? I just use the Chrome AdBlock addition right now but it only blocks "iNtrUsiVe" ads instead of blocking ALL THE ANNOYING ASS ADS. I want something that is a legitimate Ad BLOCKER not an ad FILTER. Any advice?

Get ublock, noscript, something to block canvas fingerprinting and something to deal with trackers.

Umatrix is king for this, though it takes some time to learn, however it can't block video ads on youtube.

For that I recommend Ublock

I second this. I use Umatrix in tandem with Ublock Origin.

tl;dr brave browser is not as difficult to migrate to as people think

I have been using brave for a few days now and I am genuinely happy. Try it out, migrating from chrome isn't as difficult as most think it is, assuming you are technologically adept enough to import/export stuff like bookmarks which you might not need to do if the welcome setup menu shows up for you when you install it for the first time.

I don't though. Firefox (with custom user.js file) and surf are my main browsers.

>le ebin "all brave users are shills" maymay

Brave is the lesser evil if you want/need chromium, ungoogled chromium is too unreliable and "build it yourself lol" is a significant hassle considering the frequency of important updates and the time required to do the compiling: that said, Brave is still not good, with stuff like 100% reliance on Google's extension store, poor documentation for advanced features such as GPOs, and developers that are either genuinely stupid or desperately trying to act stupid instead of admitting they can't undo some of Chrome fuckups.

The firefox side of things is just as unpleasant, and still requires you to stick to forks for a passable experience.

Is Firefox okay?

I use it together with uBlock Origin.

I'm not hyper paranoid and I disabled everything about diagnostics and data sharing, but even if something is still being shared, so does windows 10 lol... (rip win7 support for newer hardware, and no i dont wanna hack shit in I want it to just work).

How the fuck is Ungoogled Chrome unreliable?

You also have the option of Iridium Browser if you aren't a lazy piece of shit and can change a few settings.

Or Icecat, Pale moon or Waterfox which are superior because they aren't cuckshit Chromium.

Fuck off with your Brave shilling, they collect all your data and are trying to strike rich off of ads.

Pale moon is good, however there's a little spyware in Pale Moon, https://spyware.neocities.org/guides/palemoon.html

As always, spyware.neocities is a good resource, it has steps on how to get rid of the spyware.

Also use the extensions UMatrix, Decentraleyes and HTTPS Everywhere (I think it's HTTPS Anywhere on Pale Moon)

uBlock Origin is pretty god-tier, that's a fine choice.

Why do people keep saying spyware.neocities is a good site? Moonchild, Pale Moon's head dev had to make a rumor control thread specifically for how flawed that article is. https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21514

But ya, the homepage is an issue, just set your setting to not go to it at all, and if you are that paranoid, disable geo.enabled in about:config.

You shouldn't need anything more then half a brain cell to realize how everything he says in that thread is bullshit.

If that's paranoia, what the fuck are you even using Pale Moon for faggot?

Updates whenever, compliation will occasionally fail for unclear reasons and that means a LOT of time wasted for each attempt, and the dev team is clearly low on manpower so the whole project is hacker-quality at best.

I doubt you'll bother to read this since you were too stupid to read the previous comment and your two barely functioning NPC routines got you to spew "Brave shill".

Literally no one but its deranged author has ever said that, take your meds.

The best way would be blocking whole ASN instead of IP range and managing multiple profiles like one for accessing such bad ASNs (social media or alphabet) on a different and separate network while the other profile is the 'anon' one. Why you need anonymity? It's so you can avoid the metadata or having your info associated over those alphabet/gaming/social/shopping stuff you probably do use. It's way better to do these personal shit on a home network or public wifi and the anon one never use it over home network.

For blocking ASN you need to generate the ip ranges along with link blocking (like facebook.net) or just block anything alphabet/social altogether but do it over your router! Software level is not fail safe especially if you're tired you're bound to make mistakes. Use a router with a full feature iptables like openwrt.

Have separate hardware/computers for socialshit/gayming/shopping, and for anon/content/accessing sites like this or alternative news. The latter must never be over your own network or the algos and AIs will be clever enough to track down your trails (look up iknowwhatyoudownload).

For ads, block those 'like/alphabet buttons' or entire google asn and you'll be fine, at this day and age it's actually easier as the companies keep on getting merged into the 'alphabet and similar' giants.
