I was working on my case while the computer was running and got hit by an electric charge.

During further testing I noticed that when I run a USB cable along my case, it creates small sparks.

What could cause this? The PC is located on a rubber mat for sound dampening.

Some unused cable end from the PSU that has contact to the inner case?

Shitty isolation on one of the connected cables? I get sparks at the other end of a DVI/HDMI converter cable when I connect it to the monitor.

The PC is running perfectly fine by the way and has for years.

Ok, it was the DVI to HDMI cable. Fucking hell. How does connecting a cable put current on the fucking case and cause sparks on both ends? Fucking chinese electro trash.

Your PC now has superpowers. Connect a fork to the USB and you'll recieve them.
