The music is trash and there is no creative variation on the theming (god forbid anyone try to make vaporwave without a grid and setting sun as the background) so I don't really understand why people are so into it, but someone did draw me as practice on the theme.
Honestly I can't take anything that glorifies 80s culture seriously ever since I read Ready Player One. That book was some awful stuff and somehow the movie, having taken next to nothing from the book, was just as bad. Remember, Daito did not commit seppuku.

Not entirely. Vaporwave tends to be brighter and sunnier with washed out pastels. Synthwave uses a black background and its colors are pushed toward fluorescent and heavily utilizes neon glow and wireframe CGI backgrounds.
