No machines are needed. You have a nervous system capable of much finer tuned control and greater variety of exercises accessible in a shorter period of time than it would take to connect a ridiculous set of electrodes.

A family member had a medical one after getting hit by a truck. These are marketed like "sit on the couch and get ripped" but the reality is "strap electrodes to yourself with goo and feel your muscles clench uncontrollably." It's not pleasant, and it's not terribly effective unless your muscles have atrophied due to injury or disease.
