Is it normal to work muscles that aren't meant to be worked when you start? I feel my back being engaged around the upper middle bit, below the bony shoulder bit in the upper back. Doesn't hurt.

And during bent over rows my shoulders and arms are getting a workout but my back, especially lower, feels no different.

Am I doing things wrong, or is it because I am so weak that these muscles are becoming engaged on exercises meant for other things? Does that even make sense?

Yeah

a) An exercise has to be learned and coordinated by your brain first (think choreography)

b) you might have muscular imbalances

Keep focusing on form in the beginning until you got it down pat my nigger
