 No.124960

Hey /fit/, I just came back from a 3 hour walk through a near forest.

I am 6'5 tall but weigh 250 lbs. Currently starting with routine habits

Now both of my feet are quite fucked up with blistered and roughened skin. I wore regular running shoes. This shit happens EVERY SINGLE TIME I go out walking for more than a few minutes and I don't know what to do about it. It happens no matter what shoes Im wearing or what ground Im walking on.

I love hiking in forests and mountains and I use these little walks as a study break and for a little exercizing.

Is there something I can do about it?

 No.124962

If it's happening that fast you're wearing the wrong size shoe or have them too tight.

Try a 1/2 size bigger.

Also try wearing two pairs of socks. Some people use band aids on the sensitive spots.

And don't be such a pussy. Blister heal and eventually your feet will toughen up.

When I ran cross country I would get a lot of blisters, I got a better pair of shoes (Brooks PureFlow) and started wearing Injinji toe socks and it never happened again.

Build up damage resistance: foot

Walk barefoot a half hour every day.

 No.124967

Use thick cottom socks

Dont use shoes with sintethic fabric

>Also try wearing two pairs of socks

I will try this, thanks

I've walked my feet bloody many times before by hiking. I just think it doesnt have to be the norm

>>124963

Looking trough brooks shoes rn, thanks

>>124967

Do you have recommendations for such shoes?

 No.124970

Follow the advice above to maximize the best results. But also your feet will just get used to it. They're just soft and can't stand that much wear since you're also heavy. Unless this is a constant thing even after months of walking.

this nigger is trolling, you are supposed to wear synthetic socks and not cotton socks, after I started wearing the right socks I never had blisters

yeah i wrote that shit wrong

you have to wear lycra socks with padding, the thinner stuff is for skellington runners

Buy products buy products buy products buy products you got me?

If neither of these are the problem you'll want to just suffer through the blisters like a badass walking on hot coals.

And I'm not kidding, it's callus building. Also consider keeping your feet actually dry and smooth with something like baby powder or cornstarch.

Then you should consider buying a used gun and some discount bullets and pointing said fun towards the brain in your skull. Make sure the safety is off and the gun is cocked and loaded otherwise yo won't fix your condition.

Does anyone else like chewing their foot calluses? I never get blisters, but when I walk more than a mile, I get layers and layers of chewy skin that I can just bite off, or scrape off with my finger nails, and it provides a nice after-workout snack.

It doesn't. Just did 15 miles over two days and no blisters. My shoes are shit and I use dickie work socks. Feet were soaking wet from dew. No problems.

Also try putting some duct tape in your shoes. I put it in the heel and really makes a difference.

Don't give up. Hiking is the best. Except when a crazy lady sicks her German Shepard on you. Damn bitch.

thanks for the encouragement. What does the duct tape do to help exactly?

I had 3 goats chase me once

 No.125105

>>125090

the back of my shoes always wear out and chew up my heels. the duct tape keeps the irritating to a minimum. the blisters come from repeated irritation and friction.

damn goats, they have evil eyes
