The thing is I don't have a pull up bar at home. I looked everywhere something that might mirror one but alas nothing. There is however a soccer goal post near my house, but I'll look gay climbing on it in public.

So my only option is my swimming pool. Would getting in and out of the pool using the ledge (using my hands to pull myself up) constitute as a pull up?

No m8, nothing is a replacement for actual pull ups. Just get a pull up bar from Amazon or where ever you Aussies get sporting goods. I've had the same one for like 7 years and it hasn't failed (and I'm a true Amerifat). The POS foam grips wore off quickly but I wrapped the bars with hockey tape and it's fine.

I found one for $12 that fits your description. That's not too bad, I'd thought they would cost more.

Although I'm afraid I'll break the door way (I way 132 pounds)

I weigh 200 and I use one like this. The worst that happens is the contact point near the guy's hands gets a little dark and maybe caves in a bit. Nothing a little paint and spackle couldn't fix.

They make those things to support 250lbs, you should be fine

These things wont pull the top of the door frame off? I hear about it from time to time.

Probably if you have a shitty opening or trim. I bet a lot of those fail videos where the bar goes flying is because either the opening isn't level or the pullup bar isn't level.

I suppose it could rip off the trim if you wedge the top of the bar behind it, then your weight would act like a lever and pop the thing right off, but I think the one in that image just rests on top so it won't happen.

Just make sure it fits before you buy one. On Amazon there's a descripion for one:

>Fits conveniently in residential doorways 24 to 34 inches wide, with 3.5-inch trim/molding

Measure the inside door opening, and then measure the trim. I'm sure it'll fit.

If you can't do a pullup, the guy in OP is doing something that will do fuck-all for helping you out.

Instead, do inverted body rows (also called Australian pullups and fatman pullups) by laying a metal bar across two equal-height chairs, and row your bodyweight. Start with feet apart on floor, knees bent. Progress by putting feet together, then feet apart with legs straight, then bring feet closer together. Eventually you can elevate your feet.

Also, do BB or dumbbell rows to build up your lats, and plenty of grip exercises (wrist curls, reverse curls, hammer curls).

Pulling yourself across the linoleum floor is a waste of time.

Mine has made scuff marks and pressed hard into the wood on the sides to make it pretty clear that there was a pull-up bar there, but you're more likely to pull the frame apart if you use your fingertips on it.
