These places called "compounds" or "private communities" are everywhere now, these places give me an eery feeling, for what the future possibly holds for everyone: a dystopian artificial bubble-world that is detached from nature.
Every time i go to one of these private rich-ppl gated compounds they all look depressing, the buildings looked too similar(copies of one another), nothing unique or built by chance/mistake, or has a story behind it, it's all dehumanized, with very rigid planning, and with little to no regard for nature's beauty. Our rulers' greatest ambition is to build a new soulless city like Dubai, and make it the new capital..
I once visited "Madenty" compound, the place looks clean, and they add some greenery to the place by putting some grass here are there, but the general feel is still artificial, it looks fake(like out of place). If you remember a "Black mirror" episode called "Nose dive", the place she lived in had a similar dystopian look and feel. i call them the "fake happy" places.
it's becoming apparent to me now, how these fake and empty places connect fundamentally with the fake and empty world of social media. This is the future where you will own nothing, and be happy.
Why own a car when you can get free rides in a self-driving car everyday?
Why make or grow your own food, when a meal is one click away?
