I decided to redo it new because it was crampled with lots of complaints about the absence of the old bo and spam, that's why. Thought of restarting it from zero.

Thanks for taking over this board. Let me tell you how I did my audits (you dont need to do it this way, it was very time consuming so I usually did it every ~3 months)

I would go to the boards page, open every board by ISP's down to 2 ISP's, go through each board and ctrl + F /dir/ to find if the board was already on here, if it wasn't I would take note and list the board on a notepad.

Then for removing boards I would open every board on /dir/ and check two things, if the board title changed and when the most recent post was made, if it has been a week or more since the last post, I took note of the board and listed it in another notepad.

Then I would look at the boards I was going to add and figure out what category they best fit in and add them, and at the same time remove the dead boards. Followed by this I would post what I removed/added here. A very few exceptions were made for useful boards that aren't meant to be posted on much.

I tend to be less strict in this way. Expecially with boards that have as purpose a static dump of content like /w/ or /newspaper/.

I'm from /maka/- we finished Jojo's a little bit ago. Right now we're doing Rosario and the Vampire and after that we're planning on doing Berserk. If you want to update the description that would be cool. Thanks for running the board.

Yeah I realized the description for /maka/ is already longer than most. Maybe something that makes it clear that it's not necessarily like manga in general though, like "rotating manga discussion"? I can't really think of what's concise but descriptive.

In all your time archiving boards, have you ever found any blog boards similar to /jim/'s? Boards made by a guy just for him to talk about himself. Like a diary, only it's public. Ones that aren't meant for other people to post on, just himself.

I have a strong interest in these sorts of things.

I found one years ago. It was made by a hikkikomori who would post about how he hates his family and how he tries desperately to make jokes on youtube and 4chan and no one understands his humor. But I didn't bookmark it and have never seen it since.

I'm sure other people have one, too…

General discussion for hardware hackers°?

PCB bits. Proprietary pinouts. This wire goes there not here = upgrade. My five year old pci-e wifi = exact board as "new" tech costing hundreds, give or take a piece of electrical tape.

They're not adding all the boards back as far as I'm aware. 8chan BOs had to manually request migration to 8kun via email (and many emails did not manage to get through or got ignored), the phase where they said they'd start adding boards requested by non-BOs to go on claims was cancelled, and the total board count has sat at around 350~ for weeks if not months at this point.

That's not even getting into the many boards that collectively decided to stay on other imageboards/The Webring.

I may just be a noob, but there's a board I was looking for, but I click on it it just goes to a page that's blank except for e0001. Does that mean whatever used to be on that page is gone forever?

It means that Ron hasn't yet migrated the board/page in question from 8chan's rotting corpse to 8kun's Frankenstein'd body. Whether he ever intends to or not is anyone's guess.

I believe the email address to request board migration was admin@isitwetyet.com , it was mainly intended for board owners but I guess it can't hurt to try. I've sent them a few emails about a particular board I wanted to see return months ago, but received no response, and it's still not back. I think they might just blanket filter all emails from cock.li domains, which is ironic considering that 8chan used to partner with and promote them. There was also a time when Mark from /v/ (and a member of 8ch staff) asked everyone what boards they'd like to see return. The few I wanted back made the list, and then… the list got completely ignored/forgotten, and most of the entries are still dead.

Thanks for the info. I can give that email a shot, I guess nothing bad happens if they don't respond. If you want I can ask about your board too if you tell me which one it is, although I don't know that I'll have any more success than you did

Will we ever see a return of some more *wild* boards that currently display e0001 when you go on them?
