A comic book about cyberpunk magical girls (that's enough to make me erect) has been published as of recently. However, it was written by Literally Who Prime (that's enough to send my dick into hiding), and it's as much of a shitshow as you would expect, written by someone who obviously hasn't done their research in cyberpunk technobabble. If you want to read it, it's been storytimed in /co/, but I refuse to link that abortion here.

However, it got me thinking: how would you go about trying to make magical girls and cyberpunk meld together? Would you give any supernatural explanation to the girls' powers, or would you try to explain them in moderately scientific terms (biongineering, implants, genetic or psychological anomalies that give them some minor special capabilities…)? Would you make it about hope and despair, like a Meduka Meguca offshoot, or would you go for other themes? How much would you corrupt the magical girls, or how much would you purify cyberpunk to wed these two completely opposite genres?
