Tech noir is futuristic noir, it was just the original name for cyberpunk as many of its early works were about sleuthing and a grimy technological world.

Tech-noir (also known as future noir and science fiction noir) is a hybrid genre of fiction, particularly film, combining film noir and science fiction, as seen in Blade Runner (1982) and The Terminator (1984).

Like a double label

So it’s entertainment and inspiration.

So people don’t really think this real.

More of a movie and book genre

People would think you could get in a big artilery shell and go to the moon made of cheese.

Or lock scientists in a tower for saying the earth rotates around the sun.

Blade Runner (and the sequel) is a good example. People often call it cyberpunk, but it doesn't really fit the genre.

I think cyberpunk is a sub culture with many different sub cultures with in the cyberpunk sub culture.

Cyberpunk is Not a movie genre. All though a lot of moves have the cyberpunk sub culture in them.

In real life

Life in the 60s to life in present time. World wide people, Government, cultures and technology have changed.

Advancement in technology is great, but there has been a lot of dystopia with those advancements.

Technology make life easier but at the same time changes the psychological mind of humans.

Technology has changed infrastructure of governments local, state, federal. They need brouzouf for this technology how they get it is by police giving fines to people who break the law the governments make. Giving police more many more jobs to do and paying for there advance technology.

First two pictures here lean cyberpunk, last two lean tech-noir.

>In new cyberpunk, you'll be listening to booming neotrance and hypertrap in a clean club as you take hallucinogens

>In old cyberpunk, you'll be listening to industrial and punk rock in a grimy club as you take stimulants

>In cyber-noir, it'll be soft jazz in a bar as acid rain falls outside, and you'll be drinking whiskey

>In new cyberpunk, it's normal to dye your hair in any circumstance

>In old cyberpunk, you dye your hair if you're on the fringe

>In tech-noir, you don't dye your hair unless you're some sort of villain

>In new cyberpunk, morality is about fighting corporations for social justice

>In old cyberpunk, there is no morality, you just stay alive

>In tech-noir, there is morality and you're probably a light grey

>In new cyberpunk, you wear flashy neon colors and designer clothing

>In old cyberpunk, you wear jeans and a leather jacket

>In tech-noir, you wear a trenchcoat

>In new cyberpunk, your plotline involves seeking out and fighting corps, government, whatever you feel like The Man is today

>In old cyberpunk, your plotline probably involves getting dragged into something involving corps, or you've been doing illegal shit to stay alive

>In tech-noir, you're probably a PI or ex-cop solving some sort of mystery, maybe involving corps

>In new cyberpunk, your guns are flashy, complex, pristine things with lots of rails and extraneous bits

>In old cyberpunk, your guns are whatever you can get your hands on, probably cheap "imports" in shitty calibers

>In tech-noir, your gun is a revolver with futuristic bits tacked on

>In new cyberpunk, you die because a facial recognition scanner saw you and you're automatically drone striked

>In old cyberpunk, you die because the corp you pissed off sent a strike team after you, either gunning you down in the street or putting an IED in your hotel room - or you just OD

>In tech-noir, you don't die, but if you do it's probably from being shot in the back by a hitman in an alleyway who then dumps your body off a pier

>In new cyberpunk, you eat soylent

>In old cyberpunk, you eat street food

>In tech noir, you eat at diners

>In new cyberpunk, the weather is fairly normal

>In old cyberpunk, it's constantly overcast and is probably raining

>In tech-noir, the sun never rises and the rain never stops

>In new cyberpunk, you hack things through a smartphone, or get your lardass friend with a big computer to do it

>In old cyberpunk, you hack things by plugging your computer into your brain

>In tech-noir, you don't hack

>In new cyberpunk, minorities are overrepresented

>In old cyberpunk, racial composition looks about the same as it does here

>In tech-noir, almost everyone is white or asian

>In new cyberpunk, the cops are your enemy no matter what

>In old cyberpunk, the cops are probably owned by corps, but you could go to them if you're clean

>In tech-noir, the cops are your friends

I think that's about all I have, but you should have the gist of it. I was just going to draw comparisons between cyberpunk and tech-noir, but old and new cyberpunk are so different that I decided to do all three.

As always, there are exceptions to the rules. These are just generalizations.

If your talking about writing there is formula you must follow to get on the best seller list just follow that formula and put in your idea

Yes 99% of the writing is the same but different people places to prevent plagiarism.

Follow the formula or you won’t get published or noticed.

Societies that are programmed

When reading or viewing any thing like to be able to tell what comes next.

Boring

But it works

Go to a book store and get your self a coffee and pick out your subject book and read a couple books for your self.

Take time once a week and just read through these best sellers.

Do be the nail that sticks out. You will get hammered down.

Do what everyone else is doing

The masses is what drives sales and you need them to be a good writer.

Top google searches for October 2018

https://ahrefs.com/blog/top-google-searches/

Take popular things and incorporate them in you work.

It’s the year 2865 and the powerball prize is a ticket off of earth.

Everyone wants off earth but no one wants to pay or devote time to it not even NASA.

A poor boy have the golden ticket I mean powerball ticket and has to get to the claim office to brouzouf in the ticket.

He must escape from New York I’m sorry I meant to say he has to run a maze no a lot of people want him and he meets ham sole and chesebuca to get him to the claim office

There is trouble on the way big trouble in the back pack there is a child and ultraviolet sorry I’m doing it again

Find the formula and just pump out books,

Do want everyone else is doing

Doesn’t have to be good you need to get to know the critics that’s all.

This isn’t music we’re you can just sing and people like you.
