I've been coming on /cyber/ for over a year now. I consider myself part of the community, but have not posted in several weeks because I still don't feel like there's a community that I've sunk my teeth into yet.So I've come up with a few questions:

>Who created the board?

>Are there other mods?

>Was it a team of people and did they design the theme?

>How come no other 8chan drama spills over into /cyber/? Do we just practice isolationism very well or just not care.

>Does anyone still communicate over TOX

>What are the goals of the board now?

And do these questions themselves violate the general sense of equality through anonymity we've created? I heard somewhere there were only 17 active posters on the board. If that's true, are they like the tripfags of the board?

I know this is a lot to ask chummers, but I'm too curious not to ask.

>How come no other 8chan drama spills over into /cyber/? Do we just practice isolationism very well or just not care.

We've had /pol/ raids before, but they are usually just told to fuck off. At the end of the day though, no one really cares about us, we're just too small.

>Does anyone still communicate over TOX

I don't know about others, but I stopped because a lot of messages were getting lost in transit without any notification they failed to send.

/cyber/ is pretty disciplined when it comes to faggotry and ignoring it. There was a board wipe a while ago that ripped the heart of out of it, for me, so I don't post often either.

I dont think the board has any goals, other than just discussion. Its a good place for people to share things they like that fit the theme, though there always be some dickhead that shits on anything subjective and says its not real cyberpunk

the problem still is that THERE ARE THREADS UP THAT HAVE BEEN THERE FOR OVER A YEAR. FROM 2014. its not that dangerous to say that the board is dead. we need more people to come in. since we dont really have a stable community it wouldnt hurt to get some numbers rolling in, everybody would probably get used to things pretty quickly and there would be a nice, consistant group

And what you propose, advertisements?

Monoelain created it, although I owned /cyb/, a pre-exodus board.

Couldn't say.

Community effort. Monoelain is good with that shit, he also did a theme for lainchan because he and darkengine go back.

Both, but we're also small and low-profile.

I do, when I have regular internet access. Generally not on a large scale, I have a handful of people I casually chat with and a small handful of closer friends.

To exist, in my opinion. We're pretty stagnant, but we're also comfy.

Not really. It's just a slow place. With what's going on in my life right now, I can only visit every few weeks.

since all things cyberpunk are so great, why not introduce more anons from other boards to this board?

im not thinking direct advertising, just leaving some threads and webms here and there and maybe mention /cyber/ along

im also interested in bringing anons from other chans because 8ch isnt very big and stagnating

what do you think about anons from 4chan? are they compatible? i didnt find /cyber/ directly, i was browsing thru top boards on 8ch and came here, so do we focus on bringing anons to /cyber/ or to 8ch as a whole? just dropping ideas nothing serious

this, maybe, some /cyberk/ for megacorp/bootleg/slavshit fluff every now and then, some /cyberu/ for some schway weebshit, and only rarely some /cyberpsychout/ for /v/. Hell, throw in some /fit/ for civrations (soylent flavoured of course) and some /antech/ for decking out.

>what do you think about anons from 4chan? are they compatible?

Yeah, if increasing facebook-tier shitposting is what you're after.

Just mention the board whenever you come across a thread that relates to cyberpunk, sci-fi or technology in general.

i agree,

not just with the 4chan part,

why would we want to advertise this place? the point of this place being comfy to us and unpopular among regulars is to remain unnoticed, which is cyberpunk in it's core

the way webms get spread and gifs get spread, I'd say we just need to watermark out OC with a /cyber/ logo. Remember that kid selling buttons a couple years back? I still have the logo.

doesn't look bad, at all

 No.41961

I hate to say it, but this place makes Lainchan look alive. Bump to see your questions answered, OP.

cyberpunk may be dead, but lain/cyb/ is not, have you been there lately?

maybe we should migrate to lain

 No.41964

>>41962

I guarantee 90% of the people who go here regularly already go to lainchan and anyone who used to be active here is probably already there. I'm not saying that we should abandon this place, but there's also no real need to declare a migration.

 No.41968

>>41964

This. I think we can assume we're all bicoastal here.

Anyways, this board is about as active as any single boars at Lain.

Even if a lot of that activity is "THIS BORD DED CUM 2 LIANCHAN WE HAVE HOOKERS AND BLOW"

 No.41981

>>41968

>This. I think we can assume we're all bicoastal here.

你写的东西两岸。

第一海岸是美国海岸。

第二个海岸,是中国沿海。

 No.41984

>>41939

No, the problem is this board frowns upon the creation of new threads, and in turn, that leads people to think the board is completely dead. Whenever someone starts a new one, it's the typical "there's a thread already 0.00000001% similar, thread locked."

 No.42028

>>41941

It is an interesting mix of slow and comfy. Lainchan in particular has days where threads seem to languish for a while. And generally the TOX/Bitmessage/XMPP cyb groups around are the same way.

 No.42056

I visit /cyber/ about once a month to read up on discussion and check the music threads. It's too dead for me to be all that active. I know it's a vicious cycle but I find much more content on IRC and (dare I say it) /r/cyberpunk.

 No.42074

>>41984

How do I get into these TOX chats?
