Why is everyone talking about Jim in a thread about Habberman?

I actually would like to know more about Habberman if anyone has info. From what I understand he used to run fun troll ops, kinda over exagerated his role and suffered a serious case of USI.

What baffles me is how people are willing to throw money at something for barely anything in return. Spoony's Patreon has been at around 1000$ per month for practically nothing, the last video he made was a Counter Monkey from early November (four months ago) and his last actual review was in May, almost ten months ago. Speaking of Spoony (yeah, off-topic but it's not like this thread was going anywhere), it's so fucking sad. When he opened the Patreon it quickly jumped to around 5000$/month which is a very nice sum. If he could have kept a steady pace of let's say at least one video per week he could have had a dream job. I understand that running a one-man production is hard, but he could have had April help him out. I don't know what her job is, but she definitely doesn't strike me like a woman with a promising career, so whatever she made they could have made up for with a steady Patreon income. She could have helped him with editing, or capturing footage for him, or general leg-work, make the show a joint effort.

He could then structured his schedule to be more maintainable: a video review "only" requires watching a movie, writing the script, recording the review and then editing the footage. While he records himself in front of the camera she could then edit the movie footage to splice into his review. That's already a big load off his shoulders and the parallel work saves time. The Counter Monkey show is something that can be recorded with very little effort and be released as a sort of filler, he even has a "set" built for it. He just has to keep the videos short, no one wants to watch him ramble for two hours on end. Video game reviews take the longest to make, but with one video per week and properly distributed workload he should have enough time to produce like one video per month

A larger problem is that the people doing the crowd sourcing for funds are individuals who don't necessarily have any idea how to manage funds or plan their work.

To me it makes more sense to want to financially support some production company, with people that manage things for their talent, whether it be helping them with camera work, editing, special effects, sound work, and whatever else. As it is, you have individuals that just know how to setup individual videos where they talk about something and may or may not know how to do everything else, so they may not necessarily know how to even go about setting up a larger business which a larger amount of incoming funds could help with.

It's part of what I always find to be the biggest shame with most crowd funding services, you almost never hear of anyone crowd funding for a business.
