I generally sympathise with your position just out of distaste for the average person who wears fake glasses (i.e. with actual glass in them. the frame-only crowd get particular ire, since they're not even pretending properly), although I remember feeling distinctly sorry for an autist who posted about wanting some clear-lens glasses because the frame on their face and clear-glass-barrier somehow helped with their sensory shit but decided against it since they'd be indistinguishable from a hipster wearing them for fashion reasons and risk the ire of those who actually need glasses to see.

I don't really see diapers as similar to either though. Unlike glasses or the hypothetical wheelchair, nobody should be able to notice what you're doing, so it's not quite so bad. Look for the occupational safety frames that optometrists carry. Most of them are prestressed alloys or titanium. They cost a little more, but they come with those side shields you slip over the arms to use as full coverage eye protection. There are frames that look just like regular alloy frames, but they're ANSI rated.

That's one category that will never go faggot hipster plastic, because you can never make those good enough for use as safety glasses. They don't handle impact well.
