i'm a mango and animu reading weeb but this is not a tread about mango vs comics
>inb4 take it to /a/
with all the buzz around the Alita movie, i decided to read the manga to see how the story followed from the 93 OVAs, before i knew it, i had gobbled almost 20 years of serialization in less than a week
i loved the story, had a blast reading it, but when i was done i noticed there was a hole in my schedule than i didn't know how to fill
every day for a week i'd come back from work all exited to know how the story followed from the last cliffhanger i read, not needing to wait a week or a month to get the follow up to the story was amazing and adictive, so adictive that when i ran out of story to read i felt like a junkie who ran out of meth.
this isn't the first time it has happened to me, i find a cool long runing mango, eat it up in under a week and then feel a hole inside my soul
here's my question for all the weeb hating, wester comic reading, capeshit loving /co/mrades here
has something similar ever happened to you?
Western comics have been around with the same old characters for longer than most of us here have been alive, they've gone through several reboots, retcons, relaunches, etc not to mention all the spinoffs, side stories and fucking miltyverses that make western comics to complicated for newbies to just get in and start reading
Superman ain't like Berserker or One Piece where there is only one story made by one author with no spin offs nor crossovers, and for all the bragging western comics make about muh continuity across multyple series, most wester comics to my limited knowledge that is most likelly wrong are not nearly as cliffhangery as their eastern cousins, (but maybe that's becos i'm only familiar with one shot stories that became popular or short runs of a character made by one particualr author)
Now with Alita, i'm doomed to wait one month for 15 to 20 fucking pages in the Mars Chronicles saga, the previus saga had (Last Order) 30 to 40 pages a month and the first saga (Battle Angel) had 50 to 60.
Seeing the Berserker release schedule i realize i'm actually luky.
does any western reader understand the pain of the Berserker/Alita/insert mangoname here fanboy?
if so, wich is the series that got you so hooked that you felt a hole in your soul when you finally finished reading it?
