Hi, /v/. Personally as a comics and cartoons enthusiast, I see no problem with this book. Great art, great writing, this is what the medium is all about. The inking could use some work, but it's alright in my book.

I think the art is okay in my opinion, but the story is a fucking mess. It jumps from one thing to another, it uses walls of text to explain garbage, it uses messy technological language to sound clever, the characters are walking clichés.

It is just shit.

Please don't tell me that's supposed to be a Cyberpunk landscape.

It looks ugly as fuck and not in good way.

>Eyeball ads.

That's actually a good idea that I thought about not so long ago in a way to "update" cyberpunk. But damn the art was so goddamn lazy and ugly.

>>1040335

Clive Benson is probably the best thing in this comic, he feels like an actual cyberpunk character, pragmatic, morally grey and obviously he has a antagonist vibe in contrast with our good protagonist.

>Steve Jobs

Fist Calexit and now this. What's up with libtards portraying Jobs as a villain while sucking his rotten dick worth in Apple products.

Now, Cyberpunk has always been against megacorps monopolies but not against capitalism.

>Magical Girls.

Wut? Well, there goes a plausible comic series about corporate skirmish and conspiracy to get capeshit.

I bet that in 8 numbers we'll have Clive Benson yelling "I'll get you next time Goddess Mode".

>Is Code Lyoko.

ok.

Fuck this, is stupid and not even batshit fun stupid like calexit, the corporate intrigue was boring and the magical girl thing isn't shaping well either.

The backgrounds range from lazy to utterly non-existent and the characters can't seem to stay on model for more than a couple panels. The writing is fucking obnoxious, though. They probably though they were being clever by doing the in media res thing, and then cutting back to a different, non-actiony scene to exposition dump and awkwardly have our main character monologue in a highly unnatural way. Shit is cliche, amateur, and shows a huge lack of awareness… but it's practically autobiographical in how awful it is.

>Location: Everywhere, but also nowhere. Kind of.

This alone just reeks of hipster shit from 2010. Another thing that does not do book any favors is basing two characters on Quinn herself.

Comic is slightly worse than mediocre, but not offensively bad so far. Pace of the comic is completely fucked. There is too much too much text per panel. What's worse, a lot of it is either redundant or awkward exposition. It does not even explain or hint at what these monsters are. Art has typical issues of lazy copy-pasting and artist not being able to draw backgrounds, architecture, or action.

>>1040348

Art is only ok if you do not pay attention to backgrounds and forget how characters looked like panel or two ago.

 No.1040398

>>1040331

It's not good, but it could have been much worse. A lot of SJW writers make cliche black-and-white PSA comics about conservative boogeymen getting suplexed by a stronk lesbian trans PoC.

>>1040342

I don't like her as a person, but the quality of modern comics fell so downhill that this looks passable in comparison. It has a theme, but it's not blatant propaganda that makes you roll your eyes.

I don't like the book and it's themes, but I'm giving it brownie points since the author keeps it subtle.

 No.1040406

>>1040361

I'd be impressed that it got published at all, but the standards for comic book art and sequential storytelling are lower now than they were when comics first hit news stands a century ago. There's no flow to any of the action. Instead of a clear series of events being carried between panels they just bounce around wildly and then rely on lots of obnoxiously bright and clashing colors combined with lots of photoshop filter-y nonsense. And then there's the overall look of this whole fucking mess. These moronic character designs that are supposed to be badass and "empowered" ladies who look more like the worst clown prostitutes ever, overlaid with lots of symbols and imagery ripped from the pages of "I just googled 'satanic symbols' and used that to makes this shit sandwich seem fancier"

This is what happens when the writer is a talentless retard and the artist is too far up their own faggoty ass, like Robbi Rodriguez… whom you might recall flipped his shit at another comic artist and sent him pictures of his asshole over twitter, for everyone to see.

Rodriguez's only claim to fame, other than being the butthole picture guy, is being involved in the Spider-Gwen shitshow, where he also used lots of gaudy colors and eye-stinging gradient effects to create something that's just plain unpleasant to stare at.

Zoe Quinn and the interviewer, Laura Hudson, are apparently acquaintances. The source for this is twitter posts, which doesn't surprise me since Bounding Into Comics is basically a comicsgate rag.

What does surprise me is apparently Spencer Baculi has no idea that Laura Hudson was the founder of Comics Alliance and was partners with Leigh Alexander in their failed Offworld site. If he knew that then maybe he wouldn't have been so shocked that she knew Zoe Quinn.

Polite sage for being a no-fun.
