So I just got my first dehydrator and I tried out a simple beef jerky recipe. Store bought steak marinade for overnight marinading. I know I should have made my own but I was getting a little itchy to try the dehydrator out. Got up this morning and dehydrated a pound and a half of round steak for four hours. It tastes a little salty and has a strong flavor of soy sauce. I think next time I'll marinade it in pineapple juice with a healthy amount of chipotle chili powder and a table spoon of liquid smoke for something sweet and spicy yet smoky.

I'm very new to this so any tips?

Do you have a dehydrator?

What do you use it for?

Any fantastic recipes I should try?

Bananas are in the dehydrator now. The whole house smells like banana bread. Will give pictures of finished banana chips in the morning.

Banana chips were in for 12 hours and still kind of squishy so I put them in for another two hours. I'll remember to cut them thinner next time.
