Haven't been keeping up closely, but is this still just over the extradition law? Seems pretty reasonable to demand the equivalent of an extradition treaty from an area which is already legally under their control. There's plenty of Chinese misbehaviour, especially concerning Christians, but what they want is pretty freaking tame compared to the globo-homo international legal monstrosity that is the western world. Assange, an Australian, has been petitioned for extradition from multiple European countries for publishing documents of the American government, and he's probably getting heavy jail time. China's supposed "transgression" here isn't remotely comparable.
