Let me guess, you live in a major metro area and your church is a mainstream non-denominational mega church with "relevant" preaching and a "contemporary" worship style.
Churches are overwhelmingly segregated, voluntarily, and that's a good thing. Black people can minister to black people better than white people can, and vice versa, and with all races.
Your church is poised for disaster.
Look up a story of second (or first?) Baptist Church in Houston. Around the 70s they refused a black man membership because they could tell he was not being genuine and just wanted to stir trouble, and the newspapers lambasted them.
