Non-American Lutheran here. Those specific Lutheran options only apply to American Lutherans. I think there should be a general Lutheran flag. Luther's heart crest would do.

It will fill if you keep piling obscure saint upon obscure saint. And one reason threads aren't getting bumped may be because there are already so many Catholic saint threads in front of them. I count that besides the stickies there are 12 saint/daily devotion threads before the first "organic" thread and after that 9 saint/daily devotion threads in a row.

This flag is displayed outside the sanctuary at my church, and I've seen a similar one at a church that belongs to the Free Church of Scotland Continuing. So it seems to have been adopted by some reformed presbyterians. Can't say that the RPCNA uses it officially though.

I consider all the denominations in OP's post to be Christian. Seventh-Day Adventists are like the gateway drug to other cults like Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses. Once you accept SDAs, this board will gradually slide into accepting gnosticism and basically become like another /christ/

It's really up to the mods of this board to use some common sense and obey the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

You're free to think that and to tell them that every time you see the flag used, but they're obviously broadly orthodox. There's more similarity between baptists and SDA than baptists and roman catholics, and you're not drawing a line there.

Spare us the lame appeal to "obey the Spirit", (defined as whatever you think is right). Ironically, that leaning on a perceived message from the spirit is the fundamental error of SDAs.

A flag signals where the poster is coming from. A flag doesn't mean we as a board collectively affirm whatever that group teaches. Accept or don't accept whatever you think is right coram deo.

Like I said, SDAs are the gateway drug to other heretical cults. The moment the mods put in an SDA flag, the battle was lost. It's only a matter of time before Satan will start to wiggle in Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses.

Updates

>Replaced all flags with anti-aliased versions

>Removed plain white backgrounds for churches who are represented by a symbol or emblem, but not a flag

>Added Church of Sweden

>Added Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland

>Replaced Anglican/Episcopal shield with Episcopal flag

>Catholic renamed to Roman Catholic

Here's the guidelines I'm going by, so you can understand my intent. Let me know if you think something ought to change:

>Flags represent the real denominational association of the churches that posters attend

>Flags will all be 20x16 (max size)

>Only Christian flags will be made available. Working definition of Christian: trinitarian.

>Only one flag will represent each denomination

>Emblems will be used for denominations who don't fly a (real) flag

>If a denomination has a (real) flag to represent them, it will be preferred over a symbol or emblem

>Flags will be added as requested by posters

Let's go through our established checklist.

-Do you go to a Branch Davidian church? I'm pretty sure there's only one, and it's at the massacre site in Mt. Carmel.

-Are they trinitarian?

If yes to both, I'll be happy to add the flag; because adding the flag for your identification does not constitute my endorsement of the theology of that denomination, or the corporate endorsement from everyone here.

I would appreciate it if you would keep this witty talking point in just one thread at a time.

What is your ultimate goal here? Catch me in a "gotcha".. to what end?

I've asked for you to explain why the SDA church is not trinitarian and you don't seem interested. I saw someone almost make the case in a different thread, was it you? I'm open to the possibility if it would be cogently presented.
