Moving from Scotland to England and i am in need of advice. I am a lifelong member of the Free Church of Scotland and the area of England i will be in has no Presbyterian churches at all let alone one like the Free Kirk. What should i do? is there any group or church i am overlooking or will i need to settle for some interdenominational group with the types that speak tongues etc just to have a church to attend on the sabbath.

How it that possible? Are you sure you can't just drive a little further on Sundays?

I don't understand denominationism in protestantism, don't you all believe in the solas anyway?

Denominationalism is religious liberty plus conviction

>religious liberty plus conviction

Could you elaborate on this?

Sure. I took it from Al Mohler.

Those are the necessary conditions for the existence of separate denominations. They're formed when a group makes a decision, for better or for worse, to make new associations.

example: If the methodists didn't have theological convictions that made them distinct from Anglican theology, they wouldn't have left; and if the crown tried to wage holy war on them in the name of Anglicanism, they probably couldn't have.

What bout a non-denom church? Not sure what they're like.

Theres a few of those close by but i had a bad experience with one when i was younger. one opened in my village ran by the most stereotypical fuckin acoustic guitar playing overly happy american woman who just also happened to be a lesbian. too much christian rock for my tastes.

That's crazy to me. Presbyterianism is so historically influential there, more than here in the US south, and we have so much more land than you, but I'm never that far from a presbyterian church.

>>3336

That's the trend but not the whole.

Sadly it sounds like you're going to have to compromise on some things, just make sure they're not primary issues like the gospel. You should look at the site of all the non-denominational churches individually and put them in order of preference

Presbyterianism is influential in scotland not england, the free church set up the evangelical presbyterian church in england and wales but its only got like 20 congregations in the country. I will look for a non-denom which isnt too bad as i would take my eyes out before going to a Church of England or the likes.
