I've stumbled upon a collection of Islamic nasheeds online. They are very beautiful and well-composed, so much so that I can't stop listening to them even though they are not very good for my soul.
What are some similar genres of music from Christian perspective that I can listen too instead? They can be from any culture or era, as long as they are explicitly Christian in nature, and not whiny PC bulls— like 90% of 'religious' music today that's not made by Islamists.
Also, Christian Music General

Would any anon here be interested on a CCM/Jesus Music chart?
CCM/Jesus Music refers to the Christian Music made during the 60's to 80's in general; there's different kinds of rock, jazz, funk and other quite interesting stuff. It's really a lot of stuff.
After mass downloading over 35 gb of albums from christian music blogspots I discovered some pretty decent stuff, and I'm only 1/6 of hearing all the music I have.
This stuff won't replace chants or hymns, but it's way better than the secular stuff on the radio if you want to hear something different.
I have some recommendations for anybody interested:
The Last Call of Siloh - The Last Call Of Siloh (1969) (if you want to get into Jesus Rock of the 60s this is essential) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACbLX5EgAlU )
BrimStone - Paper Winged Dreams (Prog Rock/Art Rock) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsxFv1JEWQ0 )
Sweet Comfort Band - live concert December 31 1977 (Jazz/Funk/Rock these guys play pretty good) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkVMyo15wWQ )
Omega Sunrise - Feel The Change (Funk) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r1h5gUlftc&list=PLmUj6RNm_D2omGniiekxEU1buRD_BZPOZ )

Nun-Plus - Ljubimo (Folk music that's comfy and cute) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLkLxZbIsEU )
Phil Keaggy with Glass Harp - Song in the air (It's Phil Keaggy) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFeuLahlx8k&list=PLPcTOx34g9XScSKBpZtrStIDlyr53Ithk )
Ralph Carmichael - Have A Nice Day (Easy Listening music. Comfy ) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmRwE4apzU4&list=PLAj82dbJV0ZWU7IljxCLga_ALodOW5Mkp )
Trinity - Jesus When The Sun Goes Down (Folk Rock that can get quite "acid" I'd say) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLMPxjqDyuQ&list=PLAj82dbJV0ZWq82SR2cGXyMs4JySBxABy =
Paul Virgilio - There's A Place (Rock) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_yPZ2yYrjs )

RFD - Lead Me Home (pretty nice folk) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMKiE6yw5dU )
White Light - Parable (1974) (this album got a remaster because it's pretty good, it's some kind of blues rock) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-inJ7U8PI4 )
Revelation - Rare Private Jazz Funk LP (it's pretty rare, it's pretty good jazz funk too) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4mO27atAEI )
The Apocalypse - God Is My Home (rare acid folk song) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpI6KeYuB4M )
If you want to find CCM/Jesus Music go here: https://bkmusic777.blogspot.com/ This guy has a lot of stuff, even stuff you won't be able to find on youtube. You can also get a book named The Archivist 4th Edition by Ken Scott; it's a pretty long list of CCM/Jesus Music albums along with reviews.

A lot of the nasheeds I'm into specifically reference Islam and its doctrines. I think the music has a kind of hypnotic effect on me. Since hypnosis isn't genuine faith, I don't think it would be better to be 'hypnotized' into accpeting Christianity. Maybe I should post some examples from my collection.

I made this chart and I'm planning on making a "/christian/'s Jesus Music essentials" soon but I still have some problems to solve. While you can find some of these Jesus Music albums online they are hard to find and some don't even appear on discogs (that one "the fishes ep" isn't on discogs, I found it on a blog); some of this stuff is truly good and truly rare. I don't know where it would be easier to upload all of these albums for convenience; I though about making a collection at archive.org but I don't know what the anons here might think about that or if they have better ideas. I'm thinking about opening a thread specifically about this to post my advances and other charts I'll be doing from time to time; Jesus Music is pretty cool and I'm sure some of you will appreciate it. After getting that essentials chart done I would spam it all over the chans to see what happens (at best they will re-release some of these rarities or they might go up in price even more, whatever happens is better than being forgotten)
A lot of this Jesus Music is pretty good and I've been hearing a lot of it but my knowledge of it is still pretty limited, I've only heard about 300 albums and those at the chart are the 33 best of those. I wish I had that Archivist book to hear album by album of those 3200 named there so I can make a true essentials chart. I really want to do this anons, this music is so good and it's kinda sad that it dies forgotten.
God bless you!

Thanks! It makes me pretty happy that somebody finally noticed the chart.
I'm uploading Jesus Music albums here: archive . org / details / @moshidude
All of those of the chart that you can't find on youtube are there. Don't mind visiting! I'll be uploading 5 each day until I have enough to open a collection only for Jesus Music and then I'll upload even more. I found an Archivist 4th Edition list on discogs and I'll be searching for each album there and uploading them all. Hopefully one day I'll be able to get over 1000 albums.
God bless you!

In many nasheeds, the best manifestation of human qualities, heroism, and faith are promoted. These values are no different from yours if you are truly a believer

To some extent that's true, that's part of why I find them so attractive in the first place. It's always nice to see something unashamedly heroic, and they help keep me sane with all the insanity and degeneracy in the West today. They promote virtue, but they also promote killing of Christians and desecration of holy sites and icons. This I can't support. It seems like nobody in the West really takes Christianity seriously anymore, it's all just a mouthpiece for globalism, neoliberalism, or some old pervert's polygamy fetish. Nobody is inspired to make this sort of music with Christianity. There's no true faith or heroic spirit.

This is pretty impressive Anon.
I wish I had something like this 12 years ago when I was doing camp video. I did so much research, and yet found nearly nothing here. In fact, the only thing I know of from this list, is Phil Keaggy and Glass Harp.
Most of the other music from that era was frankly pretty garbage, but when I listen to what you have up here; A few hit and misses, but in general some really amazing talent.
Makes me wonder why exactly they did not meet with more mainstream exposure, however I do not wonder that much when I consider what happened to Bob Dylan when he made his Christian Albums.

Why don't you hear this chart too anon: >>855006 It has a lot of good stuff. That Miles Of Smiles album is a pretty good album with pretty good jazz harmonies and arrangements; truly an essential of Jesus Music. Most are pretty good. The albums that you can't find online are comfyly archived here: archive.org/details/@moshidude
I've been hunting for more music and I have some more recommendations on lps:
The Young And Free - Goin' Somewhere
(nice sunshine pop, some person on youtube said it could have been an "influence" on "Belle & Sebastian")
Syrma - Harvest Song
(lofi rock, gubberock)
The New Californians - The New Californians
(pretty good sunshine pop, comfy music)
Rosemary Nachtigall - The Searching Generation
(pretty comfy and cute music, sunshine pop)
Michael Gonzales - Fire In My Soul
( CCM 80s kinda jazzy funk that's good, could even be a sample for future funk ) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQqvsdDIfOc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI9-QFH51AI )
Sonlight - Sonlight (1973)
(on discogs it says it's "Fusion, Jazz-Funk, Soft Rock, Psychedelic, Religious", and it's good ) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khzSp6UaA3Y )
Dennis Ryder - Let Me Take You To The Kingdom
( one of the best acid folk albums ever, unironically a Jesus Music essential that I forgot to add to the chart )( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fw8zWz_tfI )

>Most of the other music from that era was frankly pretty garbage, but when I listen to what you have up here; A few hit and misses, but in general some really amazing talent.
Most music is garbage anon, but the market is like some kind of darwinist process where only the good are recognized and the bad die forgotten in obscurity. And then the few good music from the big labels also has the most marketing because they won't risk selling something crappy.
Searching for rares is an awful process; 80% of the time you hear an album to sift through average music just to find gems that make the album "worthy" and then there are those lucky times when the album is good. Most music outside of Top 40s and those lists is crap in general, but when it isn't crap it's pretty good generally. I'm talking about secular music, but it's similar to Christian music.
Good Jesus Music didn't have as much marketing budget as the general good music from big labels did and that's why you remember most of the music being garbage. The crappy albums were more and the good ones less known.
To make that "30 Jesus Music" chart I had to hear over 330 albums. That's a ~10% of all the albums being good enough for me to recommend them; another ~35% were albums with one to two or three or even four good enough songs. And there were albums that were all pretty boring and bland except for one pretty pretty good song like that Tom Howard - View From The Bridge album. This is the only good song of the LP IMHO, and it's pretty darn good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdKPbZ0SYlQ The harmonies, the arrangements, the rhythms, like everything is all just so incredible but the rest of the album is just boring or bland except for one song that's kinda interesting but only because of the lyrics.

I've noticed this as well. Secular musicians seem to do a better job of extolling heroism and other virtues of Christianity than many Christian musicians, who often just produce recycled pop rock love ballads with Jesus filling in for women.

I made a Christian Vaporwave song: https://files.catbox.moe/u5ggsn.mp3 It's called "Jesus is my joy". (I tried uploading the .mp3 directly to 8kun but it wouldn't let me)
I really like Vaporwave and thought it would a pretty cool thing to do a Christian Vaporwave track from a CCM sample. I have way too much Christian music in my HDD, so I just picked one CCM song that sounded good and after two days of doing stuff in Ableton the song was finished. What do you think about this song? Does it suck as vaporwave? Is it good?
I want to do Christian Vaporwave, like Vacation Bible School but something more "pop" and easier to listen to; I would use CCM samples. The genre in general would be something like the song I did, with that 80s jazzy vapor vibe that's nice. What do you think about it? Would you hear it? Do you think it's a good idea to make music like this? Do you think it has a future at all? It would feel like watching televangelists in the 80s at midnight for sure.
CCM is clearly dying forgotten; doing Vaporwave from CCM songs would be a great way to at least spark some interest for it. Christian Vaporwave would be pretty cool tbh.
Have a nice day and God bless you!
