I honestly won't be surprised if no one believes me, but here's just a few times God blew me away when I was evangelizing
Story 1
I was with a Evangelism group down at the Baltimore marketplace. We go off in pairs of two (male and female) The guy starting the conversation most of the time and the girl supporting. I talked with this large older man who was eating alone at a table. He was incredibly smart. I did my best to share the Gospel with him. He told me a lot of crazy and horrible things that happened in his life. Later on I moved on to share the gospel with others at the market. I looped back around to the area that man was and there were paramedics taking him off on a stretcher. I never found out what happened to him, if he's alive or if he passed away. But just the thought that the Gospel might of been the last thing that man heard really shook me up. It shows how urgent it is to get the gospel out there.
Story 2
Baltimore Harbor I was walking with my partner and these young adults working at a smoothy stall noticed what we were doing and started heckling us. Or that's what I thought however they were legitimately interested in what we were saying and I never seen a group of 3 guys listen to the gospel so intently. They all took a Gospel of John and they all promised to pray to God before going to bed that night. Sometimes we're suppose to be fishers of men but sometimes they just jump right in the boat without any fishing on your end it's crazy.
Story 3 is like story 2.
We were sitting down taking a break and getting something to eat as a group. a couple and there kid were sitting nearby just enjoying the harbor. There kid walks past 30+ people with pizza everywhere reaches into our box filled with Gospels of John and grabs one. The kid was like 4, I couldn't believe my eyes. The parents told the kid to give it back but we said it's okay they can keep it and the kid brought the Gospel to her parents.
How in the world did a 4 year old ignore soda and pizza everywhere and make a beeline for the box with the Gospel in it. God is amazing that's how
5. This one was in a Mall in Washington DC I was talking to an elderly Asain man who claimed to be a scientist. He let me share the gospel with him and in the process I learned a lot about him. In his search for knowledge his ultimate conclusion was "We can't know anything" Extremely smart guy who knew a lot more about quantum mechanics then I'd ever know but He rejects all and any truth claims. He was so deep into post modernism that He rejected the claim that anything even exists and aren't something we just perceive. In his search for knowing the world the only conclusion without God is that we can't know a single thing. His wife got done shopping in the store.
I remember he said "Well that's my wife It's time for me to go." I said back to him lightheartedly jabbing at his beliefs "How do you know that's your wife?" He laughed then had a resigned look on his face. And replied "Yeah I really don't know if that's my wife" and walked off. I still think about him a lot when I'm trying to fall asleep.
I have more. Evangelizing is the best thing you could ever to improve your walk with God. I grew more close to God then I'd ever have listening to sermons. (Not that sermons aren't amazing and necessary). I also need to do it more regularly the memories of sharing the Glory of God with the world are the treasures of my soul.
