Convince me to be Christian, and that it's Christianity and not race.

I'm depressed. My life feels empty. I looked into Christianity to try to fill the emptiness, and I just can't convince myself of it completely. I recognize that religion is a good social glue and helps society, but I can't believe in it personally.

An atheist, communist country (the USSR) created a more advanced society and contributed more to humankind than any nonwhite capitalist, Christian country. Why? Because of their race.

Vermont is the least religious state in the entire country according to various polls, but it's also the #1 safest state in the entire country, tied with Maine. Why? Because they're white.

I just can't convince myself that it's Christianity and not race. Can anyone convince me or am I correct in my thinking?

Another thing:

I was looking into Islam and one of their talking points was that their holy book, the Quran, was never changed so they know it's the direct word of God.

We can't even verify that with the Bible, can we? How can I take a book seriously when it's not the direct word of God and has been altered in the past?

>Convince me to be Christian, and that it's Christianity and not race.

To be fair Christianity says to value the light over the darkness. A racial interpretation might not be the message most modernists get but the Truth is always that which slips through the cracks. God is found in a whisper.

Your faith in God is between you and God Almighty,

If you want faith, get humble, get on your knees and pray to the Saints and Queen of heaven for faith. It's not for us sinners to give you faith. You have to ask.

I wouldn't speak too soon. If op is genuine I most certainly could give him faith. I was once very good at pathos and logos and could turn atheists Christian. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss him and say "Eh, go bug God instead of me."

>I was looking into Islam and one of their talking points was that their holy book, the Quran, was never changed so they know it's the direct word of God.

Islam took all of it's ideas from the bible. They are direct swipes and retellings of Genesis, the Gospels, and apocryphal books like Jubilees that existed hundreds and even a thousand years before Islam even existed. They are by definition "reactionary". Everything they believe is defined by Christianity itself - except as a negative reaction to it. Nothing about it is of it's own accord and lives in it's own space. Even the angel who supposedly spoke to Muhammad is none other Gabriel - the very angel Muhammad would not have known except for the New Testament. Muslims talk about Jesus and believe he was great - but they are reactionary and don't believe he died. That he was too good for that. It's all reactionary. It's not it's own religion.

Don't forget this guy. He found older manuscripts that promised an afterlife in Islam more akin to Christianity. And it somehow got lost in translation. "Grapes" in heaven somehow became 70 virgins. lol. Just that one mistake turned a whole region into coomer psychopaths. And the fact that he can't even mention this without hiding his identity is another sign of Muslim psychosis. They want to kill him for this now.

You're asking the question "what is the most important factor for a good society?" which Christianity never makes any claims about.

The question you should be asking is "is the Christian God the living God?", And the answer is yes. It's also a universal religion. Productive whites and relatively unproductive blacks are equally able to receive eternal life.

Productivity and inventiveness can provide good things for people but this is not a valid end in itself for human life. Obviously some people are smarter than others, but all the wisdom of the world is foolishness before God.

I'm sure you're smarter than lots of other people, and yet you yourself say your life is empty. The proper end of the human being isn't pure productivity (that's the end of a robot), but the love and grace of God (of which love and charity towards our family, nation, and people in general is a part).

Think hypothetically, there certainly might be an alien race of such immense intellect that the technological achievements of the western world are pathetic in comparison, does that invalidate the love of your mother for her child? Wouldn't you give up some of what material prosperity you have for a fuller life, with deeper relations with your family, and a spirtual life with a richer depth and meaning? The Lord gives us all of this and more. And all we have to give up is our foolish pride and arrogance, and accept his gifts to us.

>The proper end of the human being isn't pure productivity (that's the end of a robot)

No, it's literally to reproduce and/or be productive. You and everyone else are nothing but organic automata to God. Any other identity is of the deadly sin of pride to derail you from the obvious purposes God gave you in this life. You're right about being family focused though. That is one of the purposes God gave us.

Couldn't the same argument be given to Christianity, that they took their stuff from the jews?

No, because Jews are the ones who broke from the Christian religion and not the other way around.

Judaism ripped off Christianity while New Testament Christianity is simply a continuation of Old Testament Christianity.

Christianity is not supposed to be a good manners club, your arguments about violence go amiss.

You will not find meaning in nature, not for long. Repeating meaninglessness, this earthly life through procreation, is still meaningless. Nature makes the particular person no more than a means to an end, if you care for particulars, be it yourself or loved ones, you'd need the Ressurection of the Dead.

Even if it were, a preserved error is still an error. I personally don't play the historical proof game because I think bias is too strong in this field, but the islamic narrative is idiotic. Why is there not a single Quran from Muhammed's lifetime had a scribe writing in his life? A child could see that this contradicts their half-truths-full-lies.
