The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could point my twords some good Catholic literature. And maybe some good pod casts/ audio books /YouTube or bitchute videos I could listen to while I work.

I was raised as a southern Baptist which left me with a sour taste for religion. But later I found Catholicism was nothing like I'd been taught.

It was in fact everything I wanted.

I've been slowly falling in to it lately. I've bought a douay Rheims Bible and ive been praying the rosary.(Are there any other things like that?) And now, I think I'm ready to fully dive in. I've been lurking on and off for a while and I trust you guys to point me in the right direction.

The Saint Michael chaplet, the chaplet of the Five Wounds, and the Servite Rosary are also good prayers. Pray the Angelus in the mornings, and the Hail Mary frequently. Literature wise, Glories of Mary + True Devotion to Mary, Aquinas (of course), the Fathers (Augustine, Ambrose, John of Damascus, Ignatius, Justin Martyr) and all the Doctors of the Church. Go to adoration when you can, and try to find a Tridentine Mass near you. Start wearing the brown scapular so you can get used to it. Read the Catechism of the Council of Trent.

Catholic Prayers from TAN Books has pretty much every prayer you'll need to know.

Try reading st. Augustine.

I've read Confessions and I loved it. His other popular book is City of God.

Also pretty much anything from Sensus Fidelium is going to be good. Embed related is one of my favorites from them.

Read "The Introduction to the Devout Life" by St. Francis de Sales. It is a remarkable book, a book written at the height of the Counter-Reformation. It's full of details about how to lead a holier life, but unlike many books that are like it, this book is written specifically for laypeople. Check it out.

Not a Catholic, but I really enjoy some works by Catholics. Apart from some mentioned above, you should look into GK Chesterton who is basically the Catholic equivalent to CS Lewis. His book, The Everlasting Man, inspired Lewis to write Mere Christianity. Orthodoxy and Heretics are good also. If you're not autistic enough to read aquinas himself, you can also read Chesterton's book on him.
