The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I wanted to ask if someone counts as a christian when he was baptized as a baby, but was raised as an atheist or even in another religion. For example someone was baptized as a baby in the catholic church, but was then raised in a muslim family. Does he count as a Christian when he believes in Christ, but was raised muslim and was only baptized as a baby? And what if he wants to convert to protestantism (I don't know maybe lutheranism)? Does he need to get baptized again? Or does the catholic baptism also count for the protestants?

Sorry for the long question. I just really want to know. And sorry for the bad english.

Pic unrelated

Technically?

I mean, he never consciously apostatized.

Some protestants accept pedobaptism.

Others don't, consider it invalid, and think you need to be old enough to understand christian theology to be baptised.

Protestantism is like that.

This question was taken very seriously in older times. I suggest you read this very interesting case about a baptised Jewish boy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortara_case.
