Which Gospel would be best to read to various pagans in the east who have no idea of Christ (e.g. India and Southeast Asia)? Obviously all of them should be read in the end, but as an introduction which is best?

John or Matthew. At least Matthew worked for me. I grew up partly in an Eastern environment (part Asian, and was also involved in Martial Arts), but I was immediately attracted to Jesus' Sermon on the Mount the moment I read it. The East does delve into abstract subjects a lot, but there is a love for simplicity and practical wisdom as well (such as displayed in Matthew).
