The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

What was the moment that made you sure that God is definitely up there?

Personally, I find myself as an agnostic , inclined to believing in God.

I don't believe this Universe appeared randomly, and this is why I find more plausible that there was an outer, intelligent force ( we identify this force as God )

Help me please

Well the absurdity of a randomly appearing universe struck me I would say. The implausibility alone had always made me a deist. Christianity just simply was superior in every way. I realized that the theology made more sense, and the form of worship in the mass was also key. When I first went to a Catholic church and they performed the sign of peace, I understood in a moment why this religion civilized the world. It really walked the walk in a way I didn't expect

Also Deism always tried to unfairly limit God, and other religions really fell flat because I always noticed that they were more like the Deists than not. Their saints always had fine things to say about God, finer by far than Christian Saints, but you end up knowing it's bullshit, because you could say it at a TED talk and people would clap, because it sounds tolerant and conforms to the expectations of the soy-based lifeforms who attend TED talks.

>What was the moment that made you sure that God is definitely up there?

When His actions manifested in physical reality, even before I was a believer and before I noticed, what was going on.

The Creator is real, not some thought construct. He is not just "up there", He is right here, He loves you, He wants a dialog with you. And He has a plan for you. And the Lord acts, even when you run away from Him.

>Personally, I find myself as an agnostic

Just like me in my past

>inclined to believing in God

So He is already doing His work.

>I don't believe this Universe appeared randomly, and this is why I find more plausible that there was an outer, intelligent force

You should dig into Genesis (First Book of Moses) in the Bible with an open mind. It started my journey to Christ, I'm sure it can start yours as well.

After being in terms with the creation, go to the New Testament and the Good News. God will provide you with the means of understanding what Jesus Christ did for us, once your mind is open.

Many missionaries usually avoid the OT and start with the Messias, but the beginning of everything is very important for a strong faith.

I’d pray the skeptic’s prayer if I were you; it’ll be very useful for you.

>moment that made me thing God was up there

Really anything that happened in my life that I could trace to Him, such as prayers being answered or miracles happening. Kudos to you for having an open mind Op

Many reasons, but the most recent was my confirmation into the Catholic Church last Saturday. During the day I went to my local Catholic book store to get myself a confirmation gift and I opened one of the Bibles and my thumb was perfectly right under the Asperges:

>Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.

>Psalm 50:9

This was just the most recent providential sign by our Lord that He exists and He is with me. It's rather surreal seeing these things now as someone coming from a background of unbelief.

My personal story's a little boring. I always believed, and by the time I was old enough to really question things, I had enough personal experience that apostasy was never a danger. I just needed to be firmer in my beliefs.

My wife, on the other hand, (who also grew up in the faith) decided to examine all the major world faiths critically and concluded that Christianity was the only one that didn't sound like something a human being would invent. It's too weird and too different.

This is the hardest thing to deal with as a convert.
