The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

IYO what is the worst heresy the Church has had to face, Gnosticism (2nd century), Arianism (4th century), or Protestantism (16th century)?

I think gnosticism. Protestantism was initialy a movement to fight back against another heresy that unfortunately resulted to even more heresy, but started with good intentions nonetheless.

Nothing has sent more people to Hell than protestantism.

Iconoclasm. It was basically a final assault by the devil to bring back all the implications of the previous major heresies (Arianism, Macedonianism, Nestorianism, Monophysitism), fueled by a worldly attempt to please Muslims, and it destroyed countless valuable artefacts. It remained a problem a century after the 7th ecumenical council. And Protestantism revived it strongly, and today it is rather common (even if not as extreme as in the 8th-9th centuries).

Iconoclasm shelters us from laughable portrayals of biblical events. One shouldn't be revering man made objects to the point where it goes beyond a personal appreciation of the art work becoming a ritual practice. You're delirious if you think some variable paintings are really windows into heaven.

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things

Acts 17:24-25

Are you trying to prove my point?

You're so enslaved to idols that you think anyone who doesn't worship them is worse than Arius. We pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Quite fool, any true Apostolic Christian or those who are literate and read about them know that we don't worship them, but venerate them and have our faith grow stronger as a result.
