Just don't join Lewis' own church (Anglicanism/Episcopal). They're not the same as they were in his day. The American division even marries gays (to England and Africa's credit, they've censured America for now). Lewis is based though.. From what I can tell, he's loved by both Orthodox and Protestant alike. A very rare thing. While Catholics probably would love him, if they simply ventured out a bit.
Jesus himself taught us the Lord's Prayer. Start with that.
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
On earth as it is in heaven.
And give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who have trespassed against us.
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil. Amen
