I have about 15 Bibles at the moment. KJV, NKJV, NRSV, CSB and a few study Bibles but I'd like to collect more just to make sure I have as much variety in my Bible collection as possible

Get the old school 1977 RSV Common Bible + a Douay–Rheims

I get how study Bibles can be useful but I don't see the point in having that many versions. Get a literal one in modern english like NASB and an older literal one like KJV and that's about all you need. Or if you want to see how the Septuagint differs you could get that too. But it's more important to read it than have a huge collection.

Get original language copies maybe or important versions in other languages or translations from them like Murdock's translation of the Peshitta NT and the Wycliffe Bible.

Any variation of that would be good imo.. i.e. A literal version with Byzantine/Catholic underlying readings plus a modern version. KJV or Douay + an RSV/NRSV/NIV/NAB

It was the Lord who first opened my eyes with an RSV.. but personally, I've grown fond of having a KJV and NIV around.

I think the opposite. Most study bibles are worthless and just giant sectarian tracts. The best I've seen is the Archaeological Study Bible though, but it's out of print. Very lacking in theological commentary, but completely based on everything else. And beautifully designed as well (looks like a Indiana Jones bible or something). It's been replaced by the "Cultural Backgrounds" bible which is good too, but not as extensive.
