Get a KJV and take it slow. Start with the book of John.

It's ok to gloss over what you don't understand at first. You're not going to understand everything. You're not going to get the full story anyway until you read through a whole book.

also KJV is easy contrary to popular belief. All you need to do is replace thee and thou with you, and thy with your. Change "eth" to "es".

Example.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved (you shall be saved.)

O Lord, thou art our father (you are our father).

In fact things may become clearer if you know that in the KJV thou/thee/thy is singular (to one person) and you/yours is plural (to more than one).

Which version are you reading. I had the same problem until I picked up a NIV, though it is controversial.

I just got mine this past weekend, an official Catholic translation with comments on context and meaning, footnotes and all that jazz, pretty darn good. Don't they have a similar thing in English?

If you're using the KJV, that's understandable. Try a more modern translation (study Bibles are great), and limit yourself to reading 2-3 chapters a day. Alternatively, if you have trouble reading books in general and are Catholic, simply attend Mass and listen to the priest (who's studied the Bible and Christianity most of his adult life) explain scripture.

Not OP, but I’ve been reading KJV. What is a good study Bible website? As someone who works at a pozzed catholic school, and seeing the harm it does, I want to avoid buzzed interpretations.
