Baptists inevitability become like the very Popes they rail against.
I discovered this even as a little kid.. when visiting a friend's "hayride" with his Baptist church for a New Year's celebration. I wasn't even part of their church, and the preacher still had to puff out his chest and proclaim his authority around me. Even squeezed me by the arm for simply wanting to walk outside the group to get some fresh air. They can't help themselves. They never had anything really valid against the Pope's authority. They simply wanted to LARP as Popes themselves (not really a Baptist thing, since Luther and Calvin behaved this way themselves.. declaring doctrines and even scriptural canon by fiat rather than council).
