The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I've seen these articles pop up ever so often about a some 90+ year old prison guard gets sent to death penalty trial over the a supposed crime that happened 70 years ago.

This personally makes my blood boil, but what do you think about punishing crimes that happened a long time ago. What about a murderer who killed someone in his late teens wasn't found out until he was in his 80s?

I don't think it's any useful for men to pursue justice in those cases. Leave it in the hands of God.

Murder has no statute of limitations. That's the law. However, I do think it would be amusing that if someone committed a murder in his teens but wasn't caught until he was 80, he be tried in juvenile court.

78120b  No.754929

I generally think that once someone reaches a very advanced age in those cases they should be left alone. I guess I'm not fully consistent though because if you molested or otherwise did grievous harm to a child I don't care if you're babbling incoherently at the age of 107, I want to see you beheaded in the town square.

When the law is pursuing its goals, i.e., justice, it's doing its job. The law in these cases, of going after the elderly and infirm, reeks not of pursuing justice, but of vengeance or cultural brownie points.

a prison guard doesn't actually qualify as a nazi. I would be against putting someone that age and in that position in a Soviet Gulag on death penalty trial too.

No, you wouldn't. You wouldn't risk sending your family to working camps in the Taiga just because you had to stay hardcore.

There is no death penalty there you dingus, unless you're calling dying while serving a sentence a "death penalty".

>elderly and infirm, reeks not of pursuing justice

While I'd be willing to entertain the possibility of general absolution for most individuals involved in the context of a war for the sake of peace, I don't think being old should absolve every vile and murderous scumbag (and not referring to anyone in particular) of legal consequence as they may have certainly been stout and virile when they did what they did in cold blood and probably still so if not physically but mentally.

I would punish his crimes by having him pray for them from his house.

I'd just send you to the chamber for the moronicness of the comment and not the comment itself.

>God will punish with the full force of His wrath those who sinned waaaaaaay back in their childhood

Is this … b-b-bait?

God will in fact bring the full brunt of His Wrath on the reprobate, even if they be forgiven of past sins, being in a state of Mortal Sin bring to bear every other sin.

God's Mercy is great, but so is His Justice. This is why Scripture warns against going apostate or returning to sin "like a dog turning to their vomit".

Well the Holocaust didn't happen and the Jews, Satan's lapdogs, run the world and are punishing any one they can to keep the narrative afloat and in the public conscious.

I don't disagree with that in general, but IIRC in the case of old SS personnel many of the elderly being persecuted were not directly involved in the murders, just camp bureaucrats/accountants.

The biggest case that comes to my mind is Oskar Groening, whose job was just handling material goods in the camp, who was never involved in gassings or murders and who even spent his post-war life fighting Holocaust deniers. Nevertheless, in his 90s, he was sentenced to jail.

What is accomplished by this?
