i don't think making a dedicated board was a bad thing, but you're definitely right about the passive-aggressiveness. A big problem is the general encouragement of single-issue /pol/ type threads that always end up being polarized between denominations, instead of lifestyle threads that are more ecumenical in nature. I doubt anything's going to really get fixed though because of the way the current year /christian/ mod team operate I.E focusing their energy on making the board into a twitter catholic factory instead of improving the user experience.

Personally, I'd say that most of the deeper issues the board is currently experiencing are the result of our new board owner being much more active compared to our old one who was the epitome of the hands-off approach. If you spend some time on the discord you'll see how its mods and casual users look up to Tutor as some kind of venerated knowledgeable patriarch instead of what he really is, the mod team tard wrangler. I'm not saying the guy doesn't know his stuff, but there's been a critical disorientation of what the administration views as its mission ever since the mod team became not just 100% catholic, but 100% of a specific kind of catholic that has autistically low tolerance for anyone outside of catholicism. There's this intense stubbornness that results from the entirely catholic mod team having an active owner that reciprocates their views. I'm not even here to say that catholicism is wrong or that you shouldn't proselytize, but guess what happens when /christian/, a board with a huge population of people who identify as christian but are not catholic, is solely modded by people who are all in complete agreement that non-catholics, even "apostolic" orthodox, are not christians whatsoever. The fact of the matter is, when the mod team convinces themselves that something is "anti-catholic" in nature, they will do everything in their power to ruin it, either by directly attacking it, or by encouraging behavior considered "pro-catholic" to attack it.

That's what you have to realize about the mod team, they don't gauge board quality by how much its users enjoy using it, but by how hard it shills catholicism. The end result? More rabid unecumenical nu-catholics who literally can't meme, disaffected non-catholics reacting to that hostility (poorly), and gravitation towards community-destroying aggression instead of content-creating coexistence.

Tutor has literally said that an inter-denominational christian board cannot be good because it's doomed to devolve into argumentative hostility because christians of different denominations can't even meme near each other without getting at each others throats. It seems that most users have come to agree with him.
