I just want to say thank you.

A few months ago I made a post explaining my situation about being stuck in the Jehovah's Witnesses cult because of my mother. I came on here for advice and you guys really helped me.

I started going to church and got baptized and confirmed in a Lutheran congregation (don't worry it's Missouri Synod). My mom kicked me out because of this, and I was homeless living in my car for a week until my church helped me get a place. I also got better jobs during these few months and have been able to support myself.

My mother will not talk to me at all. I've been completely cut off from my family and have lost all of my friends who were Jehovah's Witnesses. I have been completely disfellowshiped, and since I was a baptized member, this means I'm completely shunned by everyone. I can only imagine what the Elders said about me at the Kingdom Hall. I was probably slandered for weeks for being the prime example of an apostate. The only thing that sucks is I know this probably brought a lot of shame and embarrassment to my mother within the community.

The Jehovah Witness cult is a dangerous one. It's full of so much manipulation and brainwashing and sheer control over an individuals life. Kids in high school are encouraged to drop out so they can make full time for Jehovah and his witnesses. It's insane.

Congratulations, anon, that takes quite a lot of courage.

That's a good thing. Anything that makes the cult show its true colors will hopefully push people a bit towards seeing that the JW are using social engineering to keep their members obedient slaves.

It's good you were brave and strong to cut off all ties. It hurts but it will be for the best, many people would have been stuck and unable to do it.
