I remember seeing some Syrian government commercial over a year ago depicting the recapture of a town with bits showing people coming back into a church and praying.

More from the first Christmas in liberated Raqqa. There were no native Raqqawi Christians left in the city by then, so the Christians of the MFS replaced a cross in the church and held a celebration. Afterwards, a few dressed as Santa and passed out gifts (food packages, clothes) to children.
