>"Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, so that the outside may become clean as well" Matthew 23:26
Of course not to say that going to church wont help you with cleaning the inside of the cup. But that verse is rather interesting as it also reminds me of Catholics who are fanatics about church attendance which doesn't really show what's inside of a man's heart (which is what matters), though if going to church helps you clean the inside of the cup (as it should if you belong to a good church) then one should make a serious habit about going.
But it mostly definitely is the thought that counts, for faith is a thought, and as is written "The just shall live by faith", and as Christ said, he came for the spiritual sick, not the righteous, so churches are like spiritual hospitals intended to clean the inside of the cup.
One doesn't need to go to church to clean the inside of the cup, but if you belong to a good church, please go, Christ is a doctor that travels, but it's nice to see him at his own hospital as well.
