We pray as we breath

usually in bed before falling asleep, unless something important comes up during the day.

sometimes after saying "amen," punctuating the prayer, i'll remember something i forgot to pray about, but feel weird about starting another prayer so soon after hanging up.

but then realize i shouldn't let my social awkwardness extend to my prayer life and pray again anyway.

Daily readings from the daily office, sometimes with a pre-written prayer, sometimes with a specific prayer. http://www.missionstclare.com/english/January/cal.html

682398 No.587516

I've taken to praying at least twice a day if I can, in the morning and evening. Shooting for 3 times a day, adding in one at sunset after work as I have a nice little prayer for that time of the day. I usually read the morning and evening prayers out of the back of my Bible, but I sometimes like to be spontaneous.

>feel weird about starting another prayer so soon after hanging up.

I know that feel, but sometimes I do it anyway and say amen again, because sometimes I'll also call someone right back after a phone conversation too!

f042d0 No.587523

For those who were wondering, I try to pray the rosary every day. I really understand how it can be considered a weapon against sin; faith deepens and joy grows naturally from it.

I also like to read at least some of the Bible every day, although pretty sporadically. Psalms are always nice afterwards.

48586d No.587531

I ask God almost the same question every day.

Sometimes I get vague responses in my dreams that I have trouble remembering.

One christanon here said that God puts the least amount of effort into having his will be done, and I honestly hope He will give me the truth before I die. I'm pretty sure He will, though, as I love Him, and I believe He loves me.

687c21 No.587533

I pray after every meal, and every time i go to sleep. I always say "holy spirit, help me, holy spirit, come to me" I either ask God for something (only when i absolutely need it) or i talk to God about problems that i have. I try not to ask God for the same or talk about the same thing, the bible says to avoid repetition.

I like the Lord's Prayer. Jesus told us to use it, after all.

c4db26 No.587566

I follow morning and evening prayers prescribed by my prayer book, before and after classes at uni, before and after meals, and generally whenever I think about praying, I'll say the Jesus Prayer over and over. Recently though I haven't been as good at keeping this prayer rule, though. I need to talk with my spiritual father to get his recommendation

Morning and evening prayers, usually using the oca recommendeds with a few additions and changes. Notably, at both times I say the Our Father, in the morning I recite the Creed, and in the Evening I add the recitation of a Psalm. I do personal open intercessions near the end of each.

83358b No.587580

I pray morning, noon, and evening, following my prayer book. Daily Office takes too much time to do, I've tried though.

I do the rosary twice a day, one half each time. After each session, I pray to be forgiven of my sins, and that Mother Mary prays for me and my loved ones. I also then add a broader subject such as, pray that Christians in China can pull through and resist communism, or that my people the Levantine Christians can return to their homes and are safe from Islam.

Good, for the sake of their souls they need it.

Before going to sleep. I pray for my family, acquaintances, enemies and the world as a whole to leave the sinful ways. And most importantly for Jesus Christ to be always with my family and me. As far as i am concerned, if you have Jesus near you things will be good. (I know i sound like a kid stfu)

I spend a lot of time in prayer at work, because 12 hour shifts of mind-numbing repetition would be torture without Jesus.

I just love, love, love that painting. I don't know much about art but it's probably my favourite I've ever seen. I want a big framed print of it on the wall when I get my own place.

I didn't know but after 15 mins of searching have found it is called "Christ and the Sinner" (I do remember it being called this when I first came across it now) by A.N. Mironov, painted in 2011:

I would have assumed it was done by 'an old master' had I not searched properly.

On my knees, with a bowed head, folded hands and closed eyes at the side of my bed, usually done once in the morning/noon and once in the evening/night, sometimes during the day when something important happened or is about to happen. Expressing gratitude for the new day he has given me and being healthy is mandatory, and I request that He helps me with my struggles through the guidance and strength of His Holy Spirit. At the end, I finish with a grave (and sometimes heavy) "Amen" and open The Bible and choose a verse/chapter randomly with the hope God intended me to read that very passage in order to aid me that I read before going to sleep.

I try to pray a Rosary each day.

modified Lord's Prayer for myself (singular) and for Humanity

3d2713 No.589400

I usually say a rosary a day plus read the Bible and a Christian book for like 45 min/1 hour.

efb83f No.590010

Varies. Some days I go to church to pray on my knees, some days I sit at my desk, in a chair, with my head bowed, some days I lay down to say a long prayer, but only when I lost track of time and or struggle to sit or stand.
