First of all I'd avoid letting her smoke it.

Even though it's not as bad as a cigarette she's still polluting her lungs with the smoke.

If she has to smoke it avoid rolling paper and use a pipe or a bong.

Better yet let her take it as a tea or eat is as is (the effect will take longer to kick in but take it on set times a day and it will be good).

Oh and check the cannabis breed.

Some are more to get 420blazed than anything, so yeah do your research.

If she starts listening to jazz music then maybe dial it back some.

If the alternative is opioids then absolutely. That being said the pain reliving effects of cannabis come entirely from CBD, not THC. Vape pens that contain only CBD are pretty common in my state even though weed is still illegal, and snoop even released some primarily cbd strains if you want to try and hunt some seeds, so try those first before you give her a lightly psychedelic substance. Also is it legal to grow in your state, because we are still called to be law abiding citizens?

Older bodies don't respond as well to physical changes. Telling an old person to "eat well and exercise" is potentially dangerous. There's a reason they say that after 45 you should only diet and exercise under the care of a physician. Old people can't just start lifting.

As far as I know cannabis has been known for centuries around the Mesopotamian region and its uses were medicinal and for hemp.

It's a pretty neat plant to be honest.

There's literally nothing that pollutes your lungs from a joint except for its smoke.

Particles of tar and soot stay behind, though much less than from a cigarette (taking you don't smoke it rolled in paper).

The rest of the stuff that's in cannabis gets either exhaled or metabolized by the body.

I smoke, I never experienced any pain relieving effects ever, I dont care what anyone says.

Yep some Chinese records also mention it used in incense burners but for recreational use those were the only known methods until tobacco smoking took off in the world. The claims of Persians smoking hashish in hookahs during the Middle Ages are unsubstantiated as far as I've seen.

People probably also wouldn't chain smoke a pack of joints a day like they do with tobacco products to get their fix.

Some essential oils are fatal if ingested even in minute amounts. That doesn't invalidate their use.

The same principle should be applied to cannabis it's just that its status as a criminalized substance has caused it to be left in a state of unguided usage which gives it a bad reputation. Even then it is more benign than other substances through its much smaller and negligible lethality toll.
