How does a person find Jesus, exactly?

Why doesn't he try to find me instead?

Why doesn't he appear in my room whenever I'm feeling lonely and afraid and say "I'm here for you, homie. You ain't got no reason to be afraid" and then give me hug?

Because then it would be too easy. Being Christian is hard, it's never ending struggle and holding onto a ledge that is shaky when your grip has loosened.

Religion is man's search of God and Catholicism is God's search for man. If God appears every time you don't feel good, then you will drop your faith the moment He stops appearing.

>How does a person find Jesus, exactly?

Reading the public accounts of what he said to us.

>Why doesn't he try to find me instead?

The holy trinity, he left his human body as a sacrifice so we wouldn't auto-matically die to sin. Although the holy spirit is still with us, but sin can still lead us away from him. The bible and his sacrifice, as well as the holy spirit, is his way of finding us.

>Why doesn't he appear in my room whenever I'm feeling lonely and afraid and say "I'm here for you, homie. You ain't got no reason to be afraid" and then give me hug?

I remember the bible saying that you don't see God, but "seeing" God is more of recognizing the blessings that hes has given you.

>How does a person find Jesus, exactly?

He does search for you. You can search all your life for Him, but it is He who really finds you. The question is rather when will you yield to His call? Try finding Him also in the Bible.

>Why doesn't he appear in my room whenever I'm feeling lonely and afraid and say "I'm here for you, homie. You ain't got no reason to be afraid" and then give me hug?

Why would you be satisfied with a vision of Him, when you can go meet Him in person? Go to the Blessed Sacrament for an hour and just pour your heart out to Him. It's not even fair how incredible this practise is, and it's a great habit to pick up.

In the words of St Francis de Sales, Instead of seeking the consolations of God, seek the God of consolations.

>How does a person find Jesus, exactly?

Seek and ye shall find.

>Why doesn't he try to find me instead?

Take a step toward him and he will take 3 towards you.

>Why doesn't he appear in my room

He's not a fairy godmother.
