There is nothing contradictory there. The whole point is to stop immigration of those who would be a threat to the country. Which means Muslims. Keep them out, let Christians in. And I'm not even a Christian, it's just common sense that Muslims are followers of a very dangerous ideology and we're better off without them around.

If they are illegal immigrants, they should be sent back. If they are Christians who illegally immigrated, shame on them for resisting the lawful authorities ordained of God. If they are legitimately in fear of religious persecution in Indonesia they should have applied for refugee status. But the article linked does not call them refugees, even though people ITT are calling them that. It says they fear persecution, but it is vague about the details. From what I understand the brand of Islam in Indonesia tends to be more moderate than most. I need details on why these people believe they will be persecuted before I say we should turn a blind eye to their criminal law-breaking over a vague sob story.

Most of the Mexicans swarming over the border are catholic christians, do we ignore their problems just because of that? A Christian who enters a house illegally should not get a free pass just because he is Christian. The same applies to a Christian who enters a country illegally, ignoring the laws instituted by our officials.
