Serious question, what's your denomination interpretation of Luke 1:42 and 1:48?

>42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!

>48 for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed.

She can't be just a regular woman right?

I believe Luke 1:42 is straightforward enough. And with Luke 1:48 this is likely true in multiple senses, because even idolators and idolatrous generations will call her blessed, that is certainly being fulfilled. And I don't disagree with them there. I'm just against the whole idolatry thing and I don't think the prayers are getting to the intended target.

I don't know if you could call that an official denomination teaching though, if there is such a thing. It's just what I've seen. Here's praying that this thread isn't torn apart to strife, that isn't my intent nor is my intent to break the rules. Thanks guys.

>Have the Son of God himself

>remain a virgin for the rest of life

>2 thousand years later people think you are a fetility goddess.

wew lad

But seriously she is not a goddess, nor it's about fertility, it's about purity and humility and the greatest grace any human has ever received.

>Jesus with blond hair and blue eyes

Mary's special blessing was being allowed to be Jesus's earthly mother. Only one human woman could be given that role. It was a very exclusive blessing and also a somewhat mixed one, because she would live long enough to see the crucifixion. However the general category of being blessed (including being blessed with a child) is not at all exclusive. Blessed are the peacemakers, etc., etc., etc.

Having been given a blessing is no reason to make Mary into a virtual goddess, only a very bad excuse. She had other children too, just like Hannah the mother of Samuel.

In 1900 European artists would be perfectly aware that Jesus didn't have blond hair and blue eyes. There is no excuse.

But the Lord saith

>“But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:48-49‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To me it seems as the Lord puts Mary and His brothers among the rest of His disciples all being on equal footing under our Heavenly Father

In the Archko Volume book there's a letter of Pilate to Rome and I believe He makes a remark on our Lord as having blonde hair unlike the other Jews with dark hair, but take that as you will, it's pretty cool reading but to the authenticity of it, who knows, but it's out there
