If God is sovereign, why does He have to have my permission to come to me? If it’s so important that we speak in tongues, why doesn’t every Christian speak in tongues? And why do Christians have to learn how to speak in tongues? If we have the Holy Spirit, and He is sovereign, can’t He just do it for us? And what about those Christians who don’t use tongues, and aren’t charismatic? Are they really spiritually dead? If so, how come they seem to be as passionate for Christ as my charismatic friends—in some cases even more so?

This actually happens in the church I go to. It's a Church of God. I was raised Baptist. The actual feel isn't much different, the people are just more lively and outspoken.

If there was no interpretation I would have known it was BS and left. I have never heard someone speak in tongues and not be interpreted in my church.

I can't remember it verbatim. Usually, it's about coming to God and seeking repentance. Coming to the altar and asking Him for forgiveness and truly seeking His face.

People speak in tongues almost every week. It's no more than two people, though. The words don't sound like gibberish either.

And I'm sure there are many churches that are false. I've encountered a few Baptist churches like that. In my experience, every church is different, no matter the denomination. With so many to choose from here in the South, it's hard to find the right one. One that isn't liberal or feminist.

For all anons say about Church of God being universal feelgood garbage, today's sermon was about that exactly. About the heresy of pluralistic and universalist beliefs.

I don't know about other churches, but mine preaches from the Bible, and it is the basis of our beliefs. No one comes to the Father except through Christ. No "once saved always saved, I can go to church on Sunday and be a faggot whore the rest of the week" watered down sermons here.
