Mary, Mother of God, is, well, Mother of God - ever-virgin, daughter of David and Aaron.

Mary Magdalene is one that washes feet of Christ, sister of Lazarus, one whom seven devils were cast out and that wa first among nuns.

They were both under Cross though, so I cannot possible think how can one confuse them.
