Its a very fucking factual website for what really appeared to be a joke at first to me. He rates the morality and how good the gameplay is separately, to the point he can give 9/10 to gameplay and 0/10 to morality if that's what he feels is true.

Is the problem defining yourself using your hobbies or is there something wrong with video games in particular? If the problem is video games, then what is the problem specifically?
It really sounds like you just personally don't like video games and want to twist it so you can feel like your opinions are somehow morally justified.

There is an upside to playing sports, it maintains a healthy cardiovascular system.
Chess games generally take anywhere from 5-15 minutes to play.
Video games are generally played sitting on one's ass, require no thought, and the average gamer plays for several hours per day. If you even have that amount of time to waste, you're doing something wrong with your life.

I don't blame you. A lot of new videogames are oversimplified left-leaning products that nickel-and-dime you for everything. It's just not worth playing them anymore. I remember a girl who became an atheist because of a dumb JRPG she played.
You're better off not giving them your money because they use it to signal against you.
>>536378
You'll save a lot of money if you don't consume entertainment in general. Nearly all of the talented creators left and it's filled with sheltered young people who have nothing genuine to say besides parroting opinion pieces from the New York Times and Late Night Comedians depicted in twitter/tumblr-friendly gifs.
Older fiction was better because it was created by people from all types of backgrounds. J. R. R. Tolkien was former military, John Woo was a former action movie star and stage actor, etc.

I think the average American spends something like 5 hours a day watching TV. I agree that consuming that much entertainment every day is not beneficial and takes time away from more productive things. People should not spend that much time watching TV or playing video games. The idea that video games require no thought is ridiculous. You have to solve puzzles, come up with strategies, manage resources, figure out enemy weaknesses, practice teamwork, etc.

If it takes you 5 to 15 minutes to play a non-blitz/bullet whatever game of chess either you or your opponent fucking suck. Putting aside championship matches that take days, tournament games generally have a time limit of 2 hours, but even casual amateur games should take half an hour.
In any case people literally dedicate their entire working and/or personal lives to games like chess, mahjong and go which are precisely as “useless” as video games.

Chess can take much longer. Weak argument.
Even weaker is sports. Sports are, above all, FUN. It is natural and healthy to ENJOY GAMES. Obviously there is the health benefit as well. Video games are no different. Enjoying speculative/genre fiction is the same. You sit or lay down (RELAXING) for a couple or few hours. You dont need to game for the entire day you out of touch grandpa. Further, my grandfather had six kids and he enjoyed dungeon crawlers and RPGs like Baldur's Gate and Diablo. It all, just like everything else, comes down to time management.
Besides. People sit and watch other people play sports for HOURS every Sunday/Monday. Don't even give me that. Me enjoying a game for the same time is absolutely no different.

This is why the Left captures children so easily. They get no competition at all; to you people, video games are unproductive and unworthy of attention, yet the Left easily utilizes them for memetic infection. Video games could retell the stories of great legends of virtuous character, or teach the young the value of piety, wisdom, and discernment. Yet, because so many people like you see video games as wastes of time, video games actually do become wastes of time, and the cycle perpetrates itself with fewer capable of producing countermemetic material.
This is why I analyze video games and how they could be designed better and how they could illustrate a mind committed to honoring these things that our Lord loves: truth, objective standards, beauty, courage, understanding the past as object lesson for the future, joy, and passion.

Would be a good site for parents to utilize for having some degree of foresight into what their children are playing, or what they are buying their children but because of the site's name they've put themselves into a rather niche market. They do reviews well and their new hardware videos are solid too. I go there every so often.
Gamers have embraced them mostly because they are upfront with their biases and can have a good degree of partiality, but they need help getting out into the mainstream, or even into churches. If any /christian/ anons actually go to church, maybe put up a flyer on their churches bulletin board for them.
They are nice people by the looks of it, and for the few years I've gone there I've always had no complaints with them or the site.

We don't say it out of our lack of knowledge, we say it because we were heavy gamers in the past. There's a consensus among us that not only did gaming fall downhill, it also eats a huge chunk of your time and money. I was a huge JRPG and SRPG guy and I think that it was always bound to be left-leaning. A lot of those stories revolve around killing God or destroying religion (Breath of Fire II, Xenogears, FFVII are examples), and these were released between the 80s and 90s. From what I noticed a lot of those folks who played it turned out to be LGBT progressives.
The issue behind those games is that they teach the youth to disregard authority through any means necessary. In those games you're always a young person fighting against older unfun people with a really dumb motive, so it's not too much of a leap from them fighting against conservative right-leaning people with the mindset of "ends justify the means". Older people are depicted as realistic thinkers who get punished whereas younger people are ditzy dreamers who get rewarded for having good intentions. It's why there's a lot of Antifa types.

He's probably not wrong because newer videogames like Overwatch, CSGO, and PUBG have lockboxes/crates/safes. To any non-gamer here, lockboxes are pseudo-gambling where you unlock with keys to earn random in-game stuff that you can resell. You still have a chance of earning the same ingame stuff that you've unlocked before.

The majority of games content are sinful and promote escapism. Do you honestly think God would want you to play these games? The whole video game industry is satanic and aims to trap people into living in fantasy worlds to distract them and make them ignore reality. It think Christians should not be wasting their time playing games when they could be doing something more productive with their time like reading the Bible. Hell any hobby that doesn't involve the internet is a good one.
Also i think that especially with technology like VR, games are created to get you hooked. If you play video games you're a fool because you are willingly accepting to be slaughtered.
