/britfeel/ - Dead Thread Edition

So it's been hot as shit for the last 2 weeks, but today I'm finally getting some rain and some fog and it feels pretty comfy today. Also it's my dogs birthday, so we're taking him out as a family later, should be fun.

That's true to an extent, but only in recent years has it become so politically aligned with "racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, harassment, bigotry" and so on becoming bannable offences, with the definitions being as loose as anything.

I'm not hanging around anywhere I can't make a joke about a self-proclaimed "game dev" woman that slept with at least Five Guys during a break with her boyfriend, or tranny emulator developer that threw himself into a river a Dolphin dev actually, but he didn't swim so good without having your post deleted and being banned. That shit sucks.

Besides being diagnosed with aspergers / higher functioning autism yesterday i've been watching Star Trek: Deep Space 9 and Geocaching with a friend, although we just used Geocaching as an excuse to roam about the countryside. We found some cool little abandoned shack in the middle of nowhere.

How exactly did you get into an argument about foreskins? I imagine /pol/ is very against the idea of circumcision.

Another sperg here, that's a thing? I'd be pretty annoyed and a little confused if a stranger just came up to me and touched me, but I wouldn't get mad over it or freak out.

Asperger's isn't like the full on head-bashing-retard type of autism, if that's what you're thinking.

It's a spectrum, I guess it's slightly different for everyone. Either way I think I got lucky, I just have no understanding of other peoples emotions and i'm unable to read the emotions in social situations, but the tradeoff is that i'm much more observant than most, so provided I can see a physical change I will realise somthing is up.

 No.18208

Ah, high functioning autism is slightly different to asperger's syndrome.

With asperger's you are practically normal, if not slightly superior in terms of learning thanks to a generally higher IQ, an increased focus on subjects of interests, and an greater ability to spot mistakes. The downside is that the entire social side of human life makes no sense at all, and is incredibly difficult to grasp, though possible with some work and guidance. If left undiagnosed or without help, spergs will often end up in deep depression or social anxiety myself being no exception, although slowly overcoming it.

HFA on the other hand usually involves delayed language development as a child, amongst other learning disabilities, which is what creates the CWC type autists.

>I'm perfectly happy being alone.

I'm a jealous in a way, I have a really deep longing to have a close friend / life partner, but I never got the hang of the social thing, so I ended up really lonely and unfulfilled.

I went undiagnosed until I was 17, and had already completely disconnecting from everyone besides the family members I live before that point, and spent most of the last 8 years of my life just being lonely, depressed, anxious, and generally living like shit.

Right now though I'm working on improving myself, my social skills, and getting out of NEET / hikki life, so that one day I can hopefully meet someone to share my life with. It's soppy as fuck I know, but whatever.

>but then I remember how much I hate being touched and spending time with people

Who knows, maybe I'll eventually find out I'm the same as you, but right now it's still a mystery to me. All I know about other people in my age group right now is from things I've read or watched online, I've never actually interacted with anyone that is in their early-mid twenties, and I'd like to at least give it a shot.

All I've had to go on for a long while is what I remembered other people were like in school, and that's a big part of what kept me away from people for so long. It was ingrained into me that many people will try to ruin my day at any moment for a quick laugh, that I needed to be hyper-aware of my own appearance and behaviour in order to not draw attention to myself, and that anything I did or said out loud would be unpredictably mocked or laughed at, even if I didn't understand why.

I've recently come to understand that adults are generally not like this however, at least not up front, so I'm a lot more willing to work towards being able to "socialise", even if just a little bit.

I'm off to bed now though, nearly fell asleep several times while typing this. I'm not sure it even makes sense. Goodnight everyone.

I was already in bed by that point, and I could barely keep my eyes open. Just checked the thread one last time on my tablet, saw the post count from the catalogue, wrote a quick post then fell asleep immediately after hitting send. I guess I could have attempted to make a new thread instead, but it wouldn't have had a picture or anything.

Still in bed now actually. Tired as fuck, I should have gone to bed earlier last night.

What's your excuse?

Well that's understandable, but a lot of the time people just start whining about the new thread and refuse to make it.

And my excuse is that I've already made most of the threads on this board, but I want to encourage others to do it more.

 No.18226

It's a little nerve-racking if you've never made a thread before, and the last thing anyone wants to do is fuck up an OP. I would expect there to be some difficulty creating a thread for those who are highly self-conscious, consider themselves incompetent, don't feel like a "true member of the community", or simply don't know what to write.

Due to the nature of this board, I can imagine that describes more anons here than just myself.

It's like when a teacher in school asks a question and most of the kids just sit there thinking "please don't pick me", hoping that someone else will put their hand up because they don't want to be the one that gets it wrong or says something stupid in front of everyone else.

That's my theory anyway, it was the exactly the same in other generals I've been in, even ones with hundreds of anons in them. The GG threads for example would consistently have 180+ regular posters in every thread, yet only 2 or 3 people that would actually make new threads.
